Which True Freshman will have the biggest impact this year?
Thought this would be a fun question to ask. Amongst the incoming freshman, who's going to have the biggest impact this upcoming season

Don't think many will get significant playing time. Not sure if the freshman or the transfer will win the punting job. I will take a guess on DT Cameron Crowell.

Agree that a freshman will not be impactful this year, but I do think Jaiden Credle will get some reps and showcase a couple of decent runs.
But I if you include transfers, I think Jordan White will have the most impact.

In my estimation there are no true freshmen anywhere above 5th on the depth chart, and with the size and quality of Hammock's classes before them, there likely isn't even much room on special teams for any of them. Jaiden Credle has the best shot because the amount of carries will once again be very high and he is the top freshman, IMO, and therefore first behind the established four of Waylee, Brown, Blakemore, and Dozier. WR's Armstrong and Johnson have the best chance to contribute on specials I think as they are fantastic athletes with physically mature bodies coming in. On defense favorite freshmen are DT Jean, LB Gassaway, and S Porter but they all have 6-8 guys in front of them and it would take losing more than half of the positional rotation to injury before playing them would be likely. I would be very surprised if any of the incoming class don't retain their redshirts.

My best guess would be a linebacker. Hammock is always trying to improve that group…lots of guys who get injured in that group. Lots of walk inside on the depth chart. I mean…I guess pick a backer who Gassaway might take snaps from? Or the hybrid huskie backer?
But I don’t see these guys playing much.

We need some better linebacker play, too many runs went for way to many years last year. And the outside zone/jet sweeps were just stealing 5+ yards. I don't think there is a single LB that truly had their spot locked up.
Go back and watch the MACCG and watch out LB just miss tackles, get faked out, and generally not contain inside or outside runs. Maddening.
I think Rayner has the best chance of playing that huskie backer/Will position, but he will be pushed by Pugh being back, who has great pursuit and will tackle if he gets his hands on a ball carrier.

I don't see too many freshmen being big impact players this year. A wide receiver may have a chance if one is game ready.

I always hope that someone shines that means they have a lot of talent and potential. Rudolph was that a few years ago. I don't expect any offensive linemen to play as true freshmen but if one did, you know he is a stud.
