Well, our next away game is the Memphis game on the 12th, so this is the time when we can rack up a whole bunch of "Ws" quickly. NYTech, WMich, and others in this stretch shouldn't pose a huge problem for us, we just need to get it done. We sit at 3-3 presently, and could be as good as 12-3 going into the Memphis game!!!
Hotty Toddy!!!

Rebels To Begin Nine-Game Homestand Friday Night
Ole Miss to host Western Michigan Friday night at 6:30 p.m.
Feb. 27, 2003
OXFORD, Miss. - Ole Miss will open a nine-game homestand Friday night when the Rebels host the Western Michigan Broncos at Oxford-University Stadium/Swayze Field. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
Friday's game is the first of three games scheduled this weekend between the Rebels and Broncos. Saturday's game is slated for 1:30 p.m., and Sunday also has a scheduled start time of 1:30 p.m.
Ole Miss (3-3) is looking to get back above the .500-mark after going 1-2 at last weekend's Crowne Plaza/Rice Invitational in Houston, Texas. The Rebels lost 8-7 to Texas-Arlington and 6-0 to No. 2 Rice on Saturday before rebounding with a 5-2 win over No. 23 Stetson on Sunday.
Sophomore right-hander Alan Horne (1-1, 7.45 ERA) is scheduled to start on the mound Friday night for the Rebels. Horne suffered the loss against Rice in his last start, allowing six runs on nine hits and two walks in 3 2/3 innings.
Freshman right-hander Mark Holliman (1-0, 3.38 ERA) is slated to start on Saturday followed by senior right-hander T.J. Beam (0-0, 2.08 ERA) on Sunday. Holliman allowed one run over seven innings in taking a no decision against Texas-Arlington last Saturday. Beam made his first start of the year last Sunday against Stetson, allowing two runs on five hits and two walks over six innings in taking a no decision.
Offensively, senior shortstop Chad Sterbens continues to pace the Rebels, batting .417 with one HR and a team-high 10 RBIs. He also enters the weekend with a modest five-game hitting streak.
Friday night's game will be Western Michigan's season opener and will mark the start of the Broncos' 28th season under head coach Fred Decker. Western Michigan finished 22-25 overall last year, including 12-13 in the Mid-American Conference to finish fourth in the MAC West Division.
The Broncos are projected to start three lefties against Ole Miss. Senior Pat Misch (6-2, 5.63 ERA in 2002), a fifth-round draft pick of the Houston Astros last summer, is scheduled to start Friday. Senior Brad Mumma (5-4, 4.55) is slated to be the Saturday starter and junior J.R. Mathes is scheduled to take the hill on Sunday.
Friday's and Saturday's games will be carried locally in Oxford on WTNM Supertalk Mississippi 105.5 FM, beginning 15 minutes prior to first pitch. Sunday's game will not aired due to conflicts with Ole Miss men's and women's basketball being played at the same time.
