I agree with everyone else that Twitter is an awful way to gauge actual fan interest. In rural counties, the difference between No. 1 and No. 6 might be 5 Twitter followers or even less. (In Sheridan County, deep in the heart of North Dakota, a single Wisconsin fan has claimed the entire county.)

That said, with a few exceptions, once I took out the P5s, Alabama's county map was more or less in line with what I expected. Is it perfect? No. Is it scientific? Heck no. But is it a stupid fun diversion for the offseason? Abso-freakin-lutely.

Rutherford county: UTK 49.9%, MT 23.2%

I see more folks with BAMA parafanalia in RuCO than ewetee. Granted, I'm not in Smyrna or LaVergne very often, so I'm seeing just Murfreesboro.

And I would say MT vs. ewetee about equal on the gear, house flags, etc. A lot of MT folks will tell you that they are fans of "both". Not me, for sure.
