Conference realignment predictions this season
What could we expect this upcoming season in terms of realignment?
Will the CUSA add an additional member or members?
Will there be additional realignment at the FBS level?
Will Howard finally join the CAA?
Will the FCS realignment carousel finally stop?
Will there be additional D2 upgrades?

No to C-USA.
No to FBS.
Yes to Howard, but only after the other 7 MEAC schools figure out what they are doing.
Yes to FCS—the ASUN needs at least 1 more.
Yes to D2–inevitably the FCS dominos are going to leave someone shorthanded.

RE: Conference realignment predictions this season
Probably nothing will happen this year but you have to wonder if there are chain reaction moves coming in a couple of years in the Big12, AAC and CUSA.
I was thinking AAC schools might stick around to collect exit fees but sounds like those are going to be spread out enough that those won't be a factor.
Temple, Navy and WSU may be content right now in the AAC, but if the Big 12 grabs Memphis, USF or SMU, at some point they may think of bailing. Navy and Temple might go football independent. Temple and WSU might put their other sports in the A10.
If enough spots open up in the AAC, there may be room enough for MTSU, WKU, LT and FIU, which could put the CUSA in jeopardy.

It depends on what the Transformation Committee does. At its June 7 meeting they reported.
NCAA Transformation Committee Wrote:3. Overview of current Division I membership standards.
• The NCAA Division I Board of Directors charged the Transformation Committee with reviewing a model for new (or enhanced) membership obligations/requirements, including the appropriateness of a new subdivision, division or even differently defined categories of institutions (e.g., groups, leagues, consortiums).
• The Transformation Committee began its review with a summary of the current legislated membership requirements.
• The committee requested historical information related to the evolution of membership requirements and data related to current sports sponsorship levels and financial aid minimums for review during its next meeting
Up to now the committee had been focused on Modernization of the Rules, Transfers, Financial Aid, Student-Athlete Benefits.
Conceivably there could be a moratorium on division changes until the new rules are approved/implemented.
