My brother and brother-in-law sat in the ND student section. Said the experience was nothing but positive. I can’t imagine the same even in the UC student section.

I've had opposing fans sit next to me in the uc student section when I was in school and never had an issue. I've say in opposing student sections as well and it's been fine. Most People are nicer than many want to give them credit for.

Do you think a big IU contingent will show up to our game this year?

Its a home game that i am thinking about attending.

Close to a sellout last I looked, a couple days ago.

Yeah, Dave you are going to probably find a scalper or someone who is willing to give up their ticket.

We'll see some IU fans, but I doubt it will be a significant number. IIRC the season ticket sales are already substantially up from last year. UC gives an allocation to traveling schools but it's probably ~3K.

Or delusional or in denial. Apparently UC is a flash in the pan mid major who never fills its stadium and has had limited success over the past few years. They don’t get why McCullogh came here.

After reading a sampling of their finest fans. Some are in denial, others some form of PTSD, and another contingent in reassurance mode. Most of that thread was reassuring those that fear UC is superior to them as an institution and fball program.

Lower tier b10 fans feel they are superior to all b/c TTFC is in the conf. They should go all in and adopt TTFC as their team.

We will be simply because UC gameday operations knows how to run a football game. I didn't have any problems with the fans at IU last year but they had no idea how to handle a big crowd. Talk about a cluster.

I hung out with several ucf fans at Mac's after the game last year. They universally raved about their Nippert experience, both the environment and how welcoming our fans were. Over the years this is how nearly every visiting fan one interacted with at or after uc football games felt.

Like most places you will encounter arseholes and decent fans.

I found both at IU.

At ND no issues.

IL fans were hospitable.

UL and Pitt were mostly douche bags.

WVU was 80% arses. Marshall fans were hospitable.

Years ago Miami was arses but in the last 10 years they had become resigned to being mediocre.

No issues at Toledo, Akron, BGSU.

Tulane had some ******* fans.

Oh, for the record... IU thinks they would have won had # 47 not gotten tossed for targeting.

I can see why they think that. However, truth be told our team the past few years started out slow offensively very often, only to grind out to a win and/or impose our will later in the game. The big blowouts like UCF and Temple last year year have been few and far between. They just haven’t see the whole body of work we have.

It will be interesting to see if the offensive remains like this now that Des and Denbrock have moved on.

isn't it just as likely, if not more probable, that he just launches himself at a latter point in the game and gets kicked out for targeting? i mean, it's not like he's going to change the way he plays and not getting caught the first time is more likely to embolden him rather than dissuade him to target our players.

I can’t say that I’ve been to a lot of away games, so
maybe my tolerance for antisocial fan behavior is low. Never had any problem at Ohio State (3x), Pitt, Marshall, Kentucky, Louisville, Miami (multiple times), Toledo, North Carolina (bowl game).

Alabama fans were passive-aggressive douches, though my brother in law had to call security on the threatening Bama fan next to him.

IU students were complete asses.

Forgot to mention bowls as they are on neutral turf. NC no issues. VT fans were a mixed bag. Southern Miss had few fans. Vandy fans were obnoxious until the end. FL fans where mostly drunk. Duke fans were ******** even after giving us the game.

I'm sure the IU fans are looking at prices on the secondary market. Up until the last 3-4 years, I don't believe you could make money selling UC tickets on the secondary markets. However, I think that has definitely changed based on what I've paid in recent years for extra tickets.

Yeah, even little kids were cussing me out on the way out of Aloha Stadium in 2008.

No contest based on what I saw on TV and read. I heard they threw urine bombs (balloons full of piss). A player hitting UC players with a crutch.

when it's the only draw in like 500 or whatever miles, i can give them a pass. i mean, where else they gonna go?

hawaii football to a hawaii should be like local high school football but magnified. i was watching in some hostel in waikiki for nye back in aught eight when hawaii was getting slapped around in whatever bowl and truth be told i don't think it was at all advertised much. or maybe i didn't care
