How and why do you all do it?
How and why do you keep track of the roster changes and the transfers we're looking at bringing in and the freshmen who've committed and so forth?

I am a fan who starts paying attention in maybe October or November and I'm largely finished once the season's done. Outside of scanning this message board 2-3 times a week during the off season, I don't really pay any attention to the roster until October and the roster is largely established.

I am curious what motivates you to follow the roster changes throughout the off season. I think I'd get dizzy trying to keep track and I wonder why you enjoy doing it.

And I'm tired of discussing transfer rules and NIL.

I apologize for the duplicate threads. I got happy fingers and clicked twice when I should've clicked once. If an admin can delete one of the threads, I'd appreciate it. I tried but got a message back saying I didn't have permission to delete the thread I started. Go figure.

I've been a season ticket holder only since Forbes first year.
But have gone to a lot of games prior. I love good basketball. My wife also loves it. I think it's very intresting to follow the players and see who we are recruiting. I also try to follow their careers when they transfer or graduate.
Times has really changed due to NIL and transfer. The NIL I think is a good opportunity for the kids. I'm not sure if it affects them much at smaller schools. Also not a fan of loosing players at the ease of transfer but that's the way it is.

There is no way the NIL can be policed. It looks to be hand in hand with the Portal for the upward bound. Not only is the kid moving up, he has a deal waiting for him when he gets there - a deal that his sending school could not match. Sounds cynical? Don’t think so in this money chasing game of college sports today.

I do it out of boredom and curiosity, if not anticipation. The Verbal Commits webpage makes it really easy to follow recruiting. Otherwise, we get random tips/leaks from posters on this forum.

First year to follow it closely, and it’s been pretty fun. In past years I just waited on JCP to tell me what’s going on. It’s a good distraction from work which sometimes gets a little pressurized. I finally got on twitter: that helped.

I really depend on the posters on this board to keep me informed. I like to keep up with everyone we offer and who commits to us. I sometimes get notifications on Facebook about a player but this board is my primary source of info about Buc recruits.

If folks are interested, a great guy to follow on Twitter is Jon Rothstein. He's about as up-to-date as it gets, and he follows all D1 programs closely.
