RE: Baseball Records
Pretty sure GS still holds the all-time NCAA record for home runs in a game with 14. I was standing on a tailgate and drinking beer with my friends during that game and one of those 14 long balls has a permanent home in my office.

Reading this thread makes me realize our baseball program should be playing in the Arkansas Intercollegiate Conference.

No reason why AState shouldn't have good attendance in Baseball. Arkansas is the top attendance team in the nation this year. So the people in Arkansas appreciate baseball and you don't have a pro team.
Collegiate Baseball is the best place to invest in your program and have success.
I think the SB should rotate the tournament at the top 3 attendance teams place. We could really build something in the Sunbelt.
The conference should also look into doing something to promote traveling fans. Maybe the teams with the best travel base gets to host. Just spit balling here.

This is a solid fan base for a good college Baseball conference.
1) 4,742 Southern Miss.
2) 4,131 Louisiana
3) 1,878 Ga. Southern
4) 1,803 Troy
5) 1,483 Coastal Carolina
6) 1,253 Texas St.
7) 1,246 South Alabama
9) 1,055 ULM
I look for USM to get a good boost next year in attendance just for the better fan interest.

Problem is the school never made a major investment into baseball, so we've never bothered trying to get fans to show interest
Until a couple years ago we were paying baseball assistants 32K per year. That only got raised because the Sun Belt stepped in and made us at least passably try.

Sounds a lot like USM basketball. There has been "some" cosmetic upgrades to Reed Green with the locker rooms and lighting but nothing to the seating or actual structure. I realize it's baby steps process but you get what you get.

My Southern Miss education.
I'm holding the #8 spot for AState once they see the benefit in College Baseball.

Tristan Stivors also leads the nation in saves this year with 17. His last 8 appearances have all resulted in saves.

That is also a new TXST single season record. Former record was 13 by Mazzoccoli in 2016

They’re pacing each other. Coutney got the Grand Slam tonight in the 3rd, Garriola following him in the order hit the solo. Fun team to watch.
