PIVOTAL CONFERENCE SERIES
• With the Sun Belt Conference regular-season schedule winding down, the Chanticleers' Sun Belt Conference weekend series this weekend at Troy (May 13-15) is pivotal.
• Coastal enters the weekend in fourth place in the regular-season conference standings at 16-7-1 and 3.5 games out of first place.
• However, the Chants are just 0.5 games out of third place and just 1.5 games out of second.
• With a series win over Troy this weekend, the Chanticleers could at best climb as high as second place in the regular-season standings, but with a series loss could fall to as low as fifth.

ALL-TIME SERIES HISTORY WITH TROY
• Coastal Carolina and Troy are all tied up at 8-8 in the all-time series.
• The series has been one of streaks lately, as Troy enters the weekend on a four-game winning streak over the Chanticleers dating back to 2019, while prior to that the Chants had won five-straight games over the Trojans over 2018-19.

• Coastal and Troy are even in several categories when looking at the all-time series.
• The all-time series between the Chants and Trojans is even at 8-8.
• As conference foes, the series between the two teams in conference play is even at 6-6.
• Over the last 10 meetings between the two squads, the record is even at 5-5.
• At Troy, the Chants are an even 3-3 all-time.
• In fact, the runs scored by both teams over the 16 games are nearly identical, as Coastal has tallied 102 runs while Troy has scored 98.

USM has lost 2 consecutive weekend series and lost midweek to Ole Miss. A 4 game lead in CUSA is down to 2 with a hot second-place UTSA coming to Hattiesburg, with hosting a regional very much in doubt now. Either they turn it around quickly starting tonight or it will be a stunning collapse.

Maybe Georgia State can be terrible this weekend and make us feel better about ourselves.

That wouldn't happen. We would just feel worse about Georgia St.

For the ULM fans watching, we won’t have the replay and on screen stats and stuff we typically have. We are hosting the softball tournament so a lot of resources and replay equipment are over there. But at least we are still airing baseball.

Agreed ,The top half of this league is an excellent baseball league. Very tough teams. I think when USM and ODU come in, this will be a scary good league.

CONWAY, S.C. – Coastal Carolina and College of Charleston's suspended game on April 6 has now been deemed an official completed game. With just one week remaining in the regular season before the conference championship tournaments, the two teams will not be able to finish the game.

The contest was suspended in the bottom of the seventh inning due to lightning and rain with the Chanticleers leading 7-2.

The offense was powered by a three-run home run from Zack Beach (1-for-2, HR, HBP, 3 RBIs, run) and a pair of RBIs from both Derek Bender (2-for-2, HR, BB, 2 RBIs, run) and Graham Brown (1-for-2, 2B, BB, 2 RBIs, run).

TROY, Ala. – Coastal Carolina erased a 6-2 deficit and scored the last eight runs of the game to pick up a 10-6 come-from-behind win in the series opener versus the Troy Trojans on Friday night at Riddle-Pace Field in Troy, Ala.

The win pushed CCU to 31-16-1 overall and 17-7-1 in league play, while the loss extended the Trojans' longest losing streak of the season to five consecutive games and put them at 29-19 overall and 13-12 in SBC play.

Entering the game in the bottom of the seventh inning trailing 6-4, reliever Reece Maniscalco (2-1) was dominant in throwing 3.0-scoreless innings to shut down the Troy offense and allow his team to battle back in the late innings in the win. Maniscalco surrendered one hit, walked one, and hit one batter while striking out six Troy hitters over the final three innings to pick up the win.

Little Rock beats Georgia Southern (ouch) and Texas State took game 2 against the Cajuns. It looks like a regular season title is Texas State’s for the taking. Georgia Southern’s RPI falls out of the top 10 with the loss.

Glad we could take this series. If we somehow managed the sweep, it'd be icing on the cake.
