healthy balance of P5/P6- about like us. kudos for what looks to be 1 for 1s with the so-called P5s. that's key imho, if an AD isn't in need of $. we've had a hard time getting 1 for 1s over the years, but its improving i think. one advantage for you i would guess might be teams wanting to come for recruiting purposes?? what a great state for HS FB.

I would like to know what UVA and VT pay ODU for comparison purposes and understand any differences

I wonder if ODU is gets a few more bucks than JMU because playing ODU at Lane gives VT 757 players a chance to play against old HS teammates that may not have gotten a P5 offer...

Since ODU is hosting multiple games in their series, likely so VPISU can play in the 757, I doubt there is any money changing hands. It's already a win for ODU being able to host them.

Typically with H&H the visitors get a small amount to cover travel but that’s it.

Weren't many of your games contracted as an FCS team? I would think that had a lot to do with it.

Wouldn’t mind adding a game or two against Sam Houston in there again now that they are moving up… maybe convince em to do a 2-1. After they upgrade that stadium. How do my fellow bobcats feel about the possibility of adding SHSU to schedule again?
Honestly I would prefer more with Tech, UH, SMU, TCU, and Baylor but trying to be realistic… and get some more in state rival games going we can win most of the time.

The information from the eagle club tour by our AD was interesting. The comment posted said he wanted to limit playing the too tier teams, like Bama, and focus on winnable games to help with the chance of getting the access bowl spot. Would be nice to also finally get a home and home with a mid level P5, like GT or UNC.

I think that over the years we’ve probably played Sam close to 100 times. That’s a hellofa rivalry. Personally, I wouldn’t mind putting them back on the schedule, probably still plenty of “Hate” on both sides.

Not sure about waiting until they update their crappy stadium though …. . . Hell’s liable to freeze over first . . .

I'm sure you did as FCS schools typically get less. That should start to change now though I'd imagine.

I'd rather not but wouldn't be mad if we did. Seems like one of those lose lose scenarios, but we lose enough as is so what's one more lol. I just don't see it really moving the needle for our fans and more importantly our students since we haven't played sam since these current freshman were in 1st grade.

This year's opening weekend for the SBC may be the most exciting one yet. A lot of "measuring stick games" and chances for exposure. Some winnable ones vs P5 and independants.

Troy/Ole Miss and ULM/Texas are the only two on there that I don't see us having a chance at winning. Could very well be a great opening week for the new look Sun Belt.

Technically we already have a H&H scheduled with a P5...2026/27 Houston will be in the Big 12.

RE: Future nonconference schedules in FB
Eh, since everyone else is putting their entire future non conference schedule, here is App's:

2022
09/03 - North Carolina
09/10 - at Texas A&M
10/01 - The Citadel
10/29 - Robert Morris

2023

2024

09/07 - at Clemson
09/14 - at East Carolina
09/28 - Liberty

2025
09/06 - at South Carolina
09/20 - Toledo

2026
09/05 - at East Carolina
09/19 - Charlotte

2027
09/11 - at South Carolina
09/18 - at Charlotte

2028
09/16 - Charlotte
09/23 - at Toledo

2029
09/15 - at Charlotte

2030
TBA - at Charlotte

2031

2033
09/03 - South Carolina

2034

The vast majority are schools in North Carolina or bordering states. I think that is best for the most part, but I would more than welcome H&H's vs. most any P5 and against premier G5's who are farther away. FCS may as well be exclusively the ones closer by that App used to play in FCS days.
