It looks like Kris Thornton is now featured on the East Coast cover (replacing DTD).

This is a good picture because James Madison is clear on the jersey and JMU us clear on the sideways helmet.

Notice the ODU player's helmet, can't see ODU on it which is a missed opportunity IMO

Didn’t want to create another page, so placing this preseason prediction here. Not unexpected that JMU didn’t place more on the 1st or 2nd teams. Congrats to Kris Thornton.

I saw that, too, and was surprised that the author only placed one Duke on the All-Conference team. At least that was First Team.

I believe we are going to have stars all over. O-line is going to dominate, I believe, which is going to make Percy and Latrele gain huge chunks and look All-World.

I think it is more that JMU is an unknown quantity that keeps more of our players off the All-Conference list. Mark my word, that is going to be way different by end-of-season All-Conference selection time.

Percy and Ukwu made third team, Kidwell made fourth team.

But I agree with the premise, these lists will look different at year end. We've got some players hungry to prove themselves, and they've said as much in recent interviews.

Thanks for the correction. I believe we are going to do much better than most of the pundits are expecting.

If Black is able to fully recover and stay healthy, I won't be surprised to see him on some lists at the end of the year.

I admire your optimism Bulldog. But I am stunned, as the father in law of Terrence Apted, you see a dominant offensive line in the making. Maybe the transfers can kick some life into them , but I saw ZERO push from those guys on downs where runs were expected. I realize the youngsters will improve, but last years game threads were filled with comments about how we couldn’t dominate the LOS. Sure hope you’re right.

I share some optimism, until proven otherwise.

We had injuries and youth last year. The team played 22 games last year, and thats a grind, but also built some experience. I thought they looked good against NDSU at season end, Montana also.

Palmer averaged 8.8 a tote on Montana, and 4.9 on NDSU.

Those are stout run D's. For the year, Montana rush D was #3, allowing 2.44/attempt. NDSU was #6, allowing 2.86/attempt.

This is a good picture because James Madison is clear on the jersey and JMU us clear on the sideways helmet.

Notice the ODU player's helmet, can't see ODU on it which is a missed opportunity IMO

At first glance I thought that was a UNC jersey. Didn't know they adopted the same color.

The light (Hudson) blue was used by ODU for a very long time. I started following them in the late 60's and they were using it as their primary uniform color then. I don't remember exactly when they decided to change to the dark blue, but it is probably within the last 30 years or so. Recently, ODU decided to start mixing in the Hudson blue uniforms more and more. The ODU fans seem to be in favor of it.

Congrats on moving up to FBS and joining us in our move to the Sun Belt. I'm sure there will be a lot of great games between our two schools in many sports going forward.

Would think this should be releasing before long. We may get a nice writeup this year.

Hard to believe, but the first preseason rag hits next Tuesday.

Athlons will be out

Little early for these rags to be published as there are still some quality pieces still in the portal. Also, one of the preseason reviews had us getting the wrong Griffis brother from Wake Forest, so it's obvious the race to be first comes at a cost to accuracy/quality. That said, Phil Steele's is easily the most thorough and genuine compilation you will find anywhere.

Yep, it won’t be perfect. But probably 90-95% correct.

And still gets me excited that college football is coming soon.

Phil Steele’s will be the most up to date as he waits as long as possible before going to the printers

If you are talking about the article in College Football News, I think it had us getting the right Griffis brother, but it was wrong when talking about his contributions to last year's WF team. That said, it wouldn't surprise me if another publication did mention the wrong brother.
