Tait then Taylor for me. The injury devastated his career but he was so explosive when healthy. Hunt just such a beast

The game against Indiana when Tait’s knee was destroyed and career. That was the first Rockets game I ever attended. I remember the Bowl game the year before and all the hype at the start of the season. Come watch our 2000 yard RB. I just feel so bad for Tait and to think what could have been.

Sweep to the left. Watched him plant and his body just kept going. Gruesome injury.

If I remember correctly that he took out everything in his knee. Not just his ACL.

RE: Mel Triplett or Bryant Koback?
Kobacks running style and lack of big wins push him down the list quite a bit for me... No titles, big OOC wins or Bowl wins.

Its all about eras of rocket fb. Hunt was the most physically dominant paired with a high powered offense. Taylor and Tait in the same boat. Then it comes down to nostalgia. I loved Dawson and Parmele as much as Adonis Thomas and Flu. We seriously have a beast list of running backs that no one outside of NIU can compare to in the MAC.

That is very unfortunate for him, but he's at the top 2 or 4 of nearly every major rushing record at UT. Imagine if he had a dominating o-line with a competent o-line coach.

Statistically, it probably goes:

1 Detmer
2 Steigerwald
3 Vest

1) Hunt
2) Taylor

4) Adonis Thomas
5) Fluellen

Based on how much I enjoyed watching them play.

I think Detmer was overall the best. He was almost perfect in 4 years for PATs... Maybe missed one at UB in 2012? He won us the UC game single handedly. Vest may have had a bigger leg and scored more points. Steigerwald was just automatic inside 40. Didnt have the big leg the other 2 had. France had the most memorable play by a kicker in UT history. Vests walkoff vs Tulsa probably next.

Vest was 0-2 career at 50+, while Steigerwald was 1-3, so not much of a difference in leg strength based on that.
Steigerwald also had a pretty good percentage at 40-49 yards.
