5 Turnovers and 70 % from Free Throw Line
And we still lose. Ugh. I think it hurts worse this morning. I will say Twitter consensus says that the refs helped the Zags ever so slightly. Great game though. Tigers and Zags played their tails off.

Disparity in made 3 pointers was a big difference.

Nolley and Tyler both disappeared down the stretch from beyond the arc to close out the season. That's not a knock on either of them, just fact. A 20 point effort from even one perimeter shooter and we're playing Arkansas. But to be fair they weren't getting a lot of good looks.

Nolley was scared. Like another poster stated, I wish Nolley had Tyler’s onions.

21% from three, wish Lester could have gotten some open looks or we try to get him open looks, feel like he would have knocked them down.

That non foul call stretch in the first half of the second half (when it was 6 fouls on Memphis and NONE zone them) hurt AND kids could not make enough threes

Both can be true

The turnovers thing was always a red herring - at least this season.
You need context.
But it's an easy number for lazy analysts to latch on to.

Agree. Zags did a good job of contesting our 3’s. We left them open for a few closer threes but they were knocking down 3’s from downtown, as well. We don’t have anyone who can consistently make them from that distance, although Harris sometimes gets on a roll.

The first half of the AAC championship was the blueprint how to defend our 3's. They did a nice job of following that. I have no problem with our offense. We lost the game midway thorugh the 2nd half with some big lapses on defense. Even so, the biggest lapse was letting Nembhard get the inbounds pass 2 times at the end. We still had a chance then.

Memphis was one or two 3 pointers away from winning the game.. Still, it was a heck of a game.

15 points is hard to make up against a team like Gonzaga

The Tigers were up in just about every category. 5 t.O.s Out rebounded Zags, bench points were heavily in Memphis favor. Zags only had 2. Tigers 20+. Only glaring thing was difference in 3's. They only shot 4 more FTs. I'm proud of the effort of the Tigers. Good luck next year Penny.

The concept of being down 10 points at the half and playing 11 minutes of passive defense without fouling is impossible. At that point you are fighting for your lives. When Gonzaga saw that they were going to get away with EVERYTHING and we would get called for EVERYTHING, and that it was 8 on 5, it changed the game completely.

At worst it is 3-3 and Williams, Duren AND Nolley all have 3, and Holmgren has 4 or 5 and Timme has 3-4.

There was no discernible difference in how each team defended. The first 30 seconds of the 2nd half where Holmgren fouled twice blatantly changed the outcome of the game. He would have had 3 and Duren and Williams would have run roughshod all over the Gonzaga frontline EXACTLY THE SAME WAY AS WE DID IN THE 1ST HALF.

Give Holmgren any of the 3 fouls he committed in the first 90 seconds of the 2nd half and we win going away.

I feel horrible, I can't imagine how ****** it is for the players and the coaching staff. They legitimately HANDILY beat the #1 team in the country in a road game, and got raped by the refs.

About half of those 3s were made off of illegal screens by Gonzaga

Irony (corruptness) is that there was 1 illegal screen called in the game, and it was called on Memphis.
