If I hadn’t just shelled out a grand for a new laptop, I’d likely be going. I’ve been to Pittsburgh a couple times and love the city. Those that are going there for the first time, you need to go to Primanti’s. Great food.

What part of town is it in? I don’t think I’ll leave downtown probably

They do have a Buca di Beppo, right across the river. It's a chain (being a snob, I like local places) BUT in 2004 in Columbus I ate every meal at the Buca di Beppo across from Nationwide Arena and we defeated both Washington (The Charge!) and Kentucky (The Pass! The Shot!).

Otherwise, I know they drink Iron City and call each other "yinz." And they claim a vibrant nightlife:

(Going by the finger gesture, I don't think she's laughing with him.)

An arena side-note. PPG Paints Arena is one of the few sports facilities in the nation that doesn't sell either Coca-Cola or Pepsi products...Strictly the Dr. Pepper family varieties of:

Dr. Pepper
7-Up
RC Cola
Sunkist
A&W Root Beer
Hawaiian Punch

Additionally they have 30 varieties of beer/alcoholic beverages in cans / 17 varieties on tap.

The Ticketmaster map puts us (if you got 113 like I did) across from the benches.

And those seats are freakin awesome.

Do any of y’all know if there will be a pregame gettogether or a send off for the team at their hotel?

I don't think this is what you meant, but I've seen people talking about sending the team off when they leave ~12:15 tomorrow.

Yeah I meant from their hotel in Pittsburgh. Unfortunately, I don't live in Bham, or I'd go to the send off tomorrow.

I remember when people would swear up and down that you can’t sell alcohol at college games, which was never true.
BUT
unless things have changed, you can’t sell alcohol at NCAA championship tournaments…so, sneak in your own

RE: I am going to Pittsburgh!
Correct me if I am wrong but I do believe the last time UAB played in the last game of the 1st Round (now technically the 2nd Round) was in 2004 which resulted in a trip to the Sweet 16. The last time we played in this region of the country for the tournament was in 2004 (Columbus is only 180 miles from Pittsburgh) which resulted in a trip to the Sweet 16.

Your mission traveling fans is to get this 2022 team to the Sweet 16. I remember making the trip to Columbus with Schard and Slinkie. We had a great time. Even ran into Coach Anderson and his wife at the team hotel the Saturday after the win against Washington. And although it was an 8 hour drive back to Birmingham after the Kentucky win, it was best 8 hour drive ever! Stop in Louisville for gas and UL folks was showing us love for beating UK.

I hope you all attending the game will have a similar experience. Have fun!

UAB said 10:15 from Bartow.

Also, before this bid we had 3 sweet 16's in 15 bids or one for every 5th bid. We went in 2004 and since then have bids in 2005, 2006, 2011, and 2015. 2022 is the 5th bid in that string which means we're due....
