Glad we can agree on that, the SOTU is not an appropriate forum for our elected representatives to heckle the POTUS no matter which party does it. Congress should let the POTUS, whoever he/she is, give the speech and address any concerns during working sessions of Congress. They're just there to listen and applaud or sit in stony-faced silence as they see fit.

Don’t selectively edit **** head.

Here is the pet you ignored.

Sorry, I didn't realize you meant that you are OK with heckling during the SOTU if it's related to the tragic death of our troops abroad. In that case, we don't agree after all.

Ok sure, I agree as a general rule, but the SOTU would be a lot more fun if Congress was more like the British House of Commons.

Certainly there are those who don't think the Speaker's behavior was appropriate, it was different though. She did that after the speech and it was not disruptive to the President as he was speaking. If Reps. Boebert & Greene wanted to destroy their program or something after he finished speaking, go right ahead. And any who supported the Speaker's action while condemning them would then be hypocritical. But Speaker Pelosi never interrupted the President while he was making the speech, the only other heckling I can recall was Rep. Joe Wilson (R-SC) during one of President Obama's SOTU addresses.

It was, in my opinion, much more disrespectful. She sits behind the President in full view of those watching and is entrusted in the primary leadership position of her party, 3rd in line for the Oval Office.

A house member yelling is a kid screaming in the cafeteria while the principal makes announcements. The speaker tearing up a speech and rolling her eyes through the entire speech is a teacher making a the jack-off hand motion behind the principal’s back while they’re speaking.

RE: One veteran's take on Rep. Boebert's SOTU heckling
It’s the typical double standard. Groups like BLM and Antifa showed up at President Trump’s speeches. In 2018 President Trump visited the Capital and was heckled with “F U Trump” but that was OK because it was a liberal moron doing it.

In my opinion asking the President to explain the botched withdrawal from Afghanistan, that caused the deaths of 13 American soldiers, at anytime is appropriate. Especially since Psaki refuses to answer any questions at daily briefing.

The Left surrendered the right to start handwringing about how a president is treated after their antics during the Trump Administration. The Left opened the door to normalizing disrespecting the president when the threw their 4 year temper tantrum.

For example:

Sadly the Left has begun verbally assaulting members of their own party when they take a more moderate stance on legislation.

I’m afraid we’re not going to get that door closed anytime soon.

RE: One veteran's take on Rep. Boebert's SOTU heckling
A) Pelosi did much more than simply tear up a speech. She was on camera the whole time... and everyone knows it. She actively 'heckled' his entire speech with her shaking head and rolling eyes.... only to cap it off with tearing up the entire speech... and the left applauded that.

B) Unless we're going to end the constant roars of approval from supporters every 15 seconds during the speech... moments most often actually choreographed in the speech, then reactionary heckling is fair game, though I don't like that either. If you want the President to deliver a speech, then let him deliver a speech and you can applaud or boo afterwards.... but 'interrupting applause' aren't okay if 'interrupting boos' are not. Sorry, but of ALL people, the President isn't free from dissent; especially on the floor of Congress. One way or another, but not 'applause is okay, tearing up speeches is okay, rolling eyes is okay, but actually voicing dissent is not.' Passive-aggressive BS at its finest. The childish tool of Pelosi and other entitled POS' like her.

these choreographed applause and 'disapproval' of dissent makes the SOU political theatre for the party in control... It becomes a sales pitch for the administration to the uninformed

This is just more of the typical way our media is today.

Have a slant you want to project. Find a willing avg Joe to “confirm” your slant. Write the slanted piece including avg Joe’s thoughts.

Voilà, ALL vets think what Boebert did was trash.

Print and disseminate. Rinse repeat every day.

Our objective media at work.

Guess the have been studying TASS…….

Not that I am for disrespecting anyone including the propped up elderly lifer Politician we have as President, but his gross negligence and incompetence led to those service members deaths. The fortified base should have been used along with all the military equipment to protect our countrymen. It was not. The fact that this President with blood on his hands wants to use a fallen service members family in a speech is repulsive. May God have mercy on us.

Seems like the loss of his son Beau has deeply effected him. Imagine how he would have felt if someone else’s negligence had led to his death other than natural causes. That charade was a failed attempt to bring people together using a diseased service member’s family. He would have been better off to say I’ve made some grave mistakes and I want to do better. Of course, that will never happen.
