I could root for Towson/Charleston the in NCAAs against a goliath
Truth is I'd root for any CAA team in the NCAA against a goliath

Is JMU’s former player Michael Christmas still on their team? If so, I’m happy he’ll get the opportunity to experience the NCAAT.

Looks like he got in for 1 minute during the first round of the big south tournament against NCA&T

I also looks like both Deshon Parker and Darius Banks are playing tonight in their tournaments and both started, although with a quick look, Parker is not exactly filling up the stat sheet this year.
Rooting for both of them.

Watched part of the second half and then the OT of the Furman- Chattanooga game. Wow! What an ending! Chattanooga wins on a 40 foot shot with less than a second to go.
Congrats to hem and congrats to Banks.
I believe that means Parker and Wilson made the tournament last year, then Banks and Christmas made it this year.

Controversy in the CAA semifinals.
Without reading on, you know where this is going.
CAA refs once again blow the game. Apparently the refs in CoC/UNCW were horrible throughout the game, but a huge call was made with 2 secs left in the game.
CoC was driving and got called for a questionable charge call against CoC.
Such a rough way to end the season for CoC.
Not surprised the refs were the deciding factor yet again and SO damn glad we are out of that garbage conference.

90% of charging fouls are bullsh*t these days.

I believe Banks was the on ball defender at the top of the key who got beat 1v1 by the Furman guard for the go ahead bucket before the Mocs hit that miracle 3.
Good for him and the Mocs.

not the worst charge call i have seen, meeks plowed into him, plus meeks missed the shot. do you think they should have awarded fts to meeks? FTS to meeks would not have been correct IMO. short of a hack, the offense should have to win the game, not get bailed out on defensive foul call. UNCW got that cheapie against us to win it. UNCW has won more than their fair share of toss up games.
dont like Kelsey, so glad to see them go down.
dont like UNCW after their antics vs. us, so would like to see delaware win it.

Was watching in real-time and thought it was definitely a block and by definition it was as the defender was not squared up and twisted after the shooter had began the motion of his shot.
Watching the replay it is a bit closer, but still was the wrong call as defender must have feet on the ground and be set and square with the offensive player having a chance to either stop or re-direct their direction. The defender in this case was still moving as the offensive player went up.

It is interesting and did not notice it last night that the outside ref also called a travel which I think was the correct call as you can see Meeks take a step and then try and jump stop but one foot came down before the other whish by definition is a travel as he took three steps.

I thought he was set. It was kind of bang-bang, and super soft call to end the game for Charleston.

RE: CAA tourney bracket prediction contest
The charge/block call is a very tough call in some cases and I thought that that was a charge in real time. Pete Gillen thought it was a block. With the naked eye and in real time, could have gone either way. Charleston player lowered his shoulder and initiated contact, of course, with defender not totally set but in position.
I'm not fond of Kelsey either. I know JMU looked at him at one point.
Two seemingly most athletic teams in tonight's final. Delaware is most talented team in the league, as per both Gillen and the UNCW HC (Sidler?) and I agree. I'm surprised that DE's record in conference wasn't better, since they have three high level guards, two lost post threats and the CAA rookie of the year that can play inside and outside, plus at least one other high level shooter (Asamoa?). Towson looked overmatched.
Watched some of Gonzaga's tourney and was impressed by the size of those teams. Gonzaga's freshman class, and I looked it up, has 3 five star and 4 four star recruits, including the no. 1 recruit. An incredible haul of talent, to say the least. 3 teams from that conference likely make the tourney (Gonzaga, St. Mary's and San Fran).

I'm not sure you totally understand the definition of a charge as the offensive player initiating contact is always the case whether it is a charge or a block. The key is that in a case like this (where a shot is bring taken) the defender must be in legal guarding position, be set and square, and allow for the offensive player to stop or avoid contact once he starts his gather (the 2 steps to the basket). If any of these things does not happen it is a block by definition. It is very hard to take a legal charge and on this one the defender was moving when the shooter gathered and therefore this was a block.
Like I said the outside guy called a walk which I think actually did happen, but that type of travel where both feet don't come down at the exact same time in a jump stop are rarely called.
