now on to towson without Amadi or Wooden. Morse looks to be hobbled and banged up, but maybe he will be ok.

what a lost season......

Phillips is a p#ssy. Throws the ball at Wooden's face, goes down, runs 25 feet away acts bad ass. That is how a p#ssy fights

When GMU and UNCW used to play, did all 10 players just fall backwards when the ref threw the ball up for the opening tip? And then just lay there for the next 40 minutes waiting for a call?

UNCW conveniently didn't show the replay so maybe it wasn't as bad as I thought it was live but it seemed really soft to me. Mettlen called it a phantom foul.

RE: JMU at UNCW
There is a reason this league has seen mass defections over the last 10 years. Poor UNCW and W&M are the lone remainders, so I get the bitterness.

That officiating was laughable. Ref couldn’t wait to make a weak call on a missed layup.

All that being said, if Vado hits his FTs late, it wouldn’t have mattered.

Time for revenge. The Seahawks were one of the reasons JMU’s season fell apart. In the first matchup, The Dukes had control for the entire game and had a big lead in the 2nd half only to falter and lose poise in the last few minutes. Still it took an off balance, tightly guarded 3 to give UNCW an improbable win at the buzzer.
I’m sure the players felt they gave that game away and want some redemption. JMU can bully this team which is the only CAA squad that plays a smaller lineup.

The Seahawks are a bit fraudulent and have the worst rebounding team in the CAA and the 2nd worst shooting team in the CAA. Smoke and mirrors have put them in a position where they have something to play for. It looks like the top seed will get to play the Keener round winner in the CAA tourney while number #2 will play the rested 7th seed since JMU is not eligible. We know there isn’t much difference from top to bottom in the CAA. However, UNCW fans have to be concerned that their #1 team got blown out at home by 24 points Thursday. Good teams don’t lose like that on the road, much less at home.

Time for big shot Chuck to get back on track. He had a career best game against Hofstra, then missed 2 games to rest a knee that flared up, then has played 3 bad games with zero 3pt shots made. He is due and the team needs his lethal 3pt shooting.

Amadi won’t be undersized for once. Double double time for him.

Nacho has started 5 games now and has 25 assists with only 4 turnovers in that time. We’ve got our PG boys and girls. 3 more years of tremendous savvy and playmaking at maybe the most crucial position. 04-rock

Will Wainwright be there to watch his former player return to Trask?

JMU 71
UNCW 70

Take your fraudulent basketball program to the weak Sunbelt where you belong. Later!

Classy post! BTW UNCW is 1-6 in the NCAA Tourney and JMU is 4-5. Not sure what your definition on fraudulent is. This fraudulent team lost to your team by 2 points total in two games so that doesn't say much about UNCW. Enjoy playing Hampton, Stony Brook, Monmouth, Howard and NC A&T in a soon to be watered-down 14 team CAA. JMU will be with peer programs that aspire to be competitive in FBS football and Division I basketball. Wilmington will be will be with former Big South and MAAC schools. I'm glad JMU is leaving the CAA because we would be going ballistic if the above schools were joining our conference.

From Mettlin-

"I'll say it again, refs don't care about conference realignment. But a very reliable CAA source tells me last March that his refs are furious it got out Byington received an apology at the tournament. Then this season goes far beyond calls simply not going his way. Guys got hurt."

Holy ****! This all stems back to, "And one" and the fact that big time programs picked it up and started talking about being "careful not to get JMU'd"

Shy didn’t throw the ball, Okauru had the ball in his hands so he may be who you’re thinking of. Okauru apparently took exception to something and shoved the ball to a Dukes player. Shy got decked for no reason so he was angry.

You have a good team. Best of luck.

RE: JMU at UNCW
This game was just as painful as the first UNCW game. JMU had both games won with 3 possession leads in the last few minutes, and lost both games collapsing in the end.

JMU just isn’t good enough this year. The coaching isn’t good enough and the players aren’t good enough. Of course, we aren’t going to get calls on the road. I wouldn’t expect that to happen anywhere especially not in a sold out Trask Coliseum.

UNCW is indeed a fraudulent first place team. Give them credit for winning a lot of close games, but their good fortune won’t last forever. I’m not a gambler, however I saw Vegas only had UNCW as a 3pt favorite at home tonight. That is a pickem on a neutral court against a JMU team that is without an injured starter and sitting at 6-10 in the CAA.
They pulled victory from the jaws of defeat both times vs the Dukes.

The game feels like a microcosm of the season. Losing games we should not lose and underachieving vs reasonable expectations.

Thanks for that. I wonder if we can use this to make sure Amadi is not suspended next game.

Hopefully he isn’t, just the person pushing Phillips to the ground should be ejected. We had 3 guys ejected for doing nothing other than leaving bench area.

The refs have lost control of CAA games it seems.

Incorrect. He had to be restrained by the coaching staff multiple times. A flop would not yield that response.

I've always hated that rule. If they actually get into the middle of it, they should be gone, but jumping up and staying within a few feet of your seat or immediately going back to your spot should be nothing.

I think one of the three ejections was actually the guy who threw the ball at Wooden's head. His was not for leaving the bench.

You could make a pretty strong case that Phillips should have been given something, too, for trying to escalate everything after everybody else stopped. He never actually got to anyone, so it is 50/50 whether it should have been called. UNCW could have also gotten a technical for the fan who ran onto the court.
