RE: UAB
So is Trice left handed or right handed?

Free throws: left handed
Jump shots: left handed (I think?)
Post moves: seems to favor right handed
Windmill dunks: definitely right handed

He is amphibious. If you know, you know who the quote belongs to.

Yes, ODU limiting their turnovers was a very big part, along with the strong defensive effort and hitting enough of their shots.

Here are some key comments from the ODU website that tells the story -

The Monarchs won by doing the little things well – they played solid defense, with patience offensively and when possible, pounded the ball inside.

Forced to play a zone defense because of early foul trouble, the Monarchs played it brilliantly. UAB was largely forced to take outside jump shots.

And in spite of facing a full-court press much of the game, ODU committed just seven turnovers.

Point guard Jaylin Hunter had one of his best games of the season – he scored 13 points, made 9 of 10 free throws, had seven assists and played tough defense against UAB guard Jordan Walker, who had 20 points, but made just 4 of 15 shots.

Long was outstanding on both sides of the court. He had 17 points, seven rebounds and a career high five steals.

You know when Jeff says he told the team throughout the game how much he was enjoying watching them play that they had to be getting the job done to his satisfaction on the defensive end. He's a defense first coach.

Hunter along with the help defense held UAB's leading scorer (Walker) to 27% shooting overall (4-15) and 30% (3-10) shooting from 3. He averages 41% shooting from both.

Hopefully we see this kind of effort and intensity a lot more going forward. They have some tough road games coming up.

Well, JJ and I now have something in common, because I thoroughly enjoyed watching that game.

…this is what we do. Beat UAB and then drop to Marshall. It’s so predictable.
