I would still rather have an education from a school that earns national notoriety. I sure am glad I didnt attend a directional school like UCF that 90% of people outside of Florida havent even heard of. The University of Houston also boasts an unbelievable law school and specializes in several different areas as well.
[QUOTE]The fact is that UCF's admission standards are much tougher than UH's. [QUOTE]
Keep telling yourself that pal... While UCF might require initially a higher SAT score or GPA that is far from being "much tougher" than U of H. Keep priding yourself on USF, Miami, FSU, Florida etc leftovers...

I think if you had the chance to see our campus and facilities being built....you wouldn't see it as a directional school. The "directional" is just in the name...but the school's accomplishments academically show for itself.
If you were playing the University of California - Los Angeles...would you feel the same? Or the University of Southern California?
We're a younger school compared to most...but UCF won't be "unknown" nationally for very long.

UHCougar1, c'mon... there's no need to be slamming other conference members school like that.
UCF grads and students are, and have every right to be, as proud of their alma mater as you are of yours.
How well the UCF or UH football team fares on the field has absolutely no bearing whatsoever on how good of an education you receive at your schoo, so could you do us all a favor and chill with the attacks on UCF's academics?
Thanks! :)

Are you stupid or something? Wait you went to UH... duh.
What is it about a National publication such as US News ranking UCF in the third tier of institutions versus putting UH in the fourth tier that you don't get? That is national recognition that our school is more respected than yours. Hello?
Gee. Let's take the numerical average of 920 and 1150. 1035. Compare that to 1174. 139 points better is a pretty big lead when it comes to SAT scores in case you didn't know.
Again, it's not that big of a deal. But your attacks are completely unnecessary. And in fact, you're forcing me to point out ugly facts about your school that I'd rather not.

U of Houston is definitely no Rice. And Rice has far more national notoriety than UH since its a 'Magnolia League' school - UH is not. Im sure just as many people never heard about UH in comparison to UCF afterall we both aren't, dare I say, BCS media darlings.

fwiw, UCF's undergraduate professors on average make a higher salary than any other public institution in the state of Florida. That includes UF, FSU, FAU, FIU, UNF, FGCU, Florida A&M -- and most definately by a flippin landslide, South Florida, who is ranked somewhere like 8th, or maybe it was 18th...
As for football, last year our assistant coaches were also THE highest paid in the state. That includes UF, FSU, Miami, and most definately by a flippin landslide, South Florida, who will probably never figure out where their school is located, because their Geography professor is on strike for being paid a pittance.

You do realize that Univ of Houston was once a regular top 10 team in football? You also realize at one point we went to three straight final fours in basketball. I am not saying this makes up for us sucking right now, but dont act like we arent known around the country, because fans over about 30 know...

To an avid college football and basketball fan, maybe. To the average Joe walking down the street, most likely not.
