First and foremost, thanks for posting. Selfishly I wish there was some way for recruits to see that interview because Thomas does such an excellent job of speaking with his head and heart about the program. Any player should realize how lucky they would be to be a part of the program and any parent should love the commitment of a coach like him.
Those of us in the media talk to each other about the job Hammock is doing and often wish those above would give us more opportunities to cover NIU.
Not to quibble, technically Hammock is NIU football's only two-time First-Team Academic All-America player, but Patrick Stephen was a three-time Second-Team Academic All-America as well as National Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete. And T.J. Lux was initially a Second-Team Academic All-America before earning back-to-back First-Team status his last two years making him a three-time pick, as well as being the nation's Academic All-America of the Year as a senior. And one other note, Kenny McReynolds interview with coach Hammock came about thanks in part to his connection with Mike Korcek. Many of us media folks continue to rely on him even though some in the program don't treat him with respect.
