It’s okay if Sims is off shooting, that’s not the problem. Everyone goes through that. The important part is getting him to recognize when he’s having an off night and to get the ball in the hands of his teammates who are scoring. He can’t just keep launching, and then trying to be the “guy” at the end. We have plenty of scorers. We know who is hot. Lately it’s been Okauru. If you don’t have it going, give it to the guys that do.

As good as he has been this year...when the ball isn't going in the basket, he needs to help in other ways. The biggest help would be NOT turning the ball over and rebounding at a high level. Full speed turnovers aren't his issue, the careless ones are. He'll bounce back and be ready to go for the homestretch!

RE: Half way thru conference play. 9-0
Even against the zone, jacking up threes is not the solution. Sim's is our point guard, which means he sets the tone and gets the ball to the right people against every defense. Somebody has to be the leader on the court and recognize when we're jacking up threes instead of driving or working the ball into the paint against the zone. Then they need to settle the team down and get them back to what we know works. If Siddle is going to allow them freedom on offense, then they have to self-regulate. So far nobody has shown the leadership on the court to make this happen. But every great team has that leader. Now is the time for Sims to step up and be that leader. He can leave with a legacy of a conference championship and maybe a trip to the NCAA. Or he can leave wondering what could have been. The entire team has this at their feet and every one of them knows what has and hasn't worked since they've been here. Time to take ownership and make this happen and be one of the great teams in the history books of UNCW basketball.
