RE: @Northeastern - GAME 15 - CAA GAME 6
We play NU twice in a 4 day period next week. On Monday we visit their barn called Matthews Arena, where fans will NOT be allowed in the building. Thursday night we host the Huskies in Trask to complete the season series.

NU is not only 0-7 in league play, they've been non-competitive in several of those 7 losses. Their average margin of defeat is 11.1 points in league play. Monday's game will be their 4th straight contest at home.

NU has averaged over 14 turnovers per game all season, and 14.6 per game in league play. Only Charleston and W&M have done a worse job of protecting the ball.

This team has zero interest in letting this win streak end any time soon. I imagine they'll be focused and ready.

Cmon Proff, we have it wrapped up. Hasn’t that been our approach all year?

I do see where you are going and I don’t blame ya. It would be easy to exhale. And, we need to mentally prepare to some zone whether a 3/2 or 2/3. Hawks are hard to guard, especially Shy. They have big size but Hawks faster.

RE: @Northeastern - GAME 15 - CAA GAME 6
At any point in time, a Bill Coen-coached team could have the lightbulb go on. I just hope they wait a week for that to happen.

Going 4-0 on a roadtrip would be absurdly impressive for this team.

RE: @Northeastern - GAME 15 - CAA GAME 6
UNCW seems to play better against bigger teams using our quickness to get to the paint, get to offensive rebounds and create turnovers. Northeastern is a big team overall, but not in the paint.

In conference play they are last in the CAA in scoring, they give up a high percentage on defense and are next to last in the conference, next to last on offensive boards, first in defensive rebounds, last in steals, last in turnover margin and last in three pointers made per game.

They've lost a lot, but when they lose they aren't allowing a lot of points. I know we're supposed to be careful about a "trap game", but our strengths are their weaknesses. Teams with strong guard play have had their way with NU. JMU won 89-66 creating 19 TO's leading to 25 points off turnovers and Hofstra won 72-50 creating 14 TO's leading to 20 points off turnovers.

UNCW ends this road trip 4-0 with their biggest margin of victory against a D1 team this season and skate out of the frigid hockey rink to the warm confines of Trask 6-0 in the conference and firmly at the top of the CAA.

Northeastern at home in their ice cave. That’s a tough place to play with or without fans.

I don’t hate the projection. They were picked to be much better this year, and we are currently over performing. Honestly, I don’t like facing them this deep into their losing streak.

I think it’ll end up being a split, home and home.

RE: @Northeastern - GAME 15 - CAA GAME 6
I share ScribeHawk's assessment that this is a "sucker game". If you only look at both teams' conference records, you would think that we are perfectly good and that they are perfectly bad. Obviously we all know that is not correct, and a hungry well-coached team, one expected to have been in the top half of the conference, on their floor ought to give pause to anyone with anything resembling a "we've got this" attitude. Some of that can be read into some comments here...I hope there is none of that is in our locker room.

If I were a betting man, I'd bet on the Hawks. But this is a dangerous game.
