Best thing that could happen is Jeff retires. Then There’s no buy out. Wood gave his friend the sweet unwarranted extensions. He should do the right thing and retire at the end of the season and let Wood off the hook. There’s no reason to think it’s getting better. This was the season it was all supposed to come together for us. We won’t sniff an NCAA over the next four years with JJ here. It’s time.

I will add there was a six minute period in the second half where Keyser was straight cooking. He scored the first 14 points for us in the second half and then added in some assists. For that period of time, I saw the dude JJ had been talking about when he signed here.

We've always had questionable shooting teams under JJ, but to go almost seven minutes without a basket is preposterous.

This was supposed to be a good team at the start of the year. I figured top 4 in CUSA, and maybe have a fighting chance to pull out the conference tourney title. Maybe the Myrtle debacle has had a lasting impact, but we're probably going to be about a .500 team in CUSA and perhaps even lower than that.

IMO, for a program with ODU's resources, and being this far into JJ's career - having this kind of season is unacceptable especially bordered against a previous losing season. I've already made my mind known to Dr. Selig, and I encourage others to do the same.

The right thing for JJ to do is retire. It's better for his health and the health of the program. Let us move on...

We have the ball and the lead, and all we need to do is work some clock. No we jacking up 3 pt shots early in the shot clock. No attempt at all to milk time.

6 minutes left is way too much time, to slow it down. You need to play how you got the lead. If we can't make shots, attack the rim and get to the line. The refs didn't get us much love.

Why would he thumb his nose at a 6-figure buyout? To save the school money? Would you? C'mon. You want rid of him? Fire him and pay the consequences.

Hey, I’m just a fan, not a money guy, I didn’t even go to ODU.Been following the team since our high school coach took us to see the Dave Twardzik led Monarchs play. ( didn’t know till later I was watching possibly the best Monarch ever). I’ve seen the good teams, the average teams, the great teams. The Tom Young 6-22 teams, the Tom Young teams led by the great Chris Gatling teams, the great Paul Webb teams, great Capel teams, average Capel teams, Ollie as a player and a coach, Blaine as a great coach and a tragedy .

If you step back and just look at it, we are trending the wrong way for sure. Can’t shoot, and suddenly it seems can’t defend either. Can’t get in a true center (Trice is doing great but he is 6’7” and is really a forward. I’m just too weak mentally to put myself through the pain of watching too closely. I’d rather read a book and gave some peace ( reading This is Happiness, how appropriate! First year since I first went I haven’t gotten tickets. Did go to VCU game… I had a flicker of hope, they were missing some key pieces that game. Didn’t matter. Oh well, life goes on.

I feel similarly and am sure I would recognize you from attending the same games as far back as the Twardzik era as well. Anyone that has followed the teams as long as we have is well qualified to discuss the direction of the team, and how it fits in historically, having seen the ups and downs over the decades. Under Jeff we are in a prolonged slump of mediocrity - which is not where ODU typically resides historically.
