And he’s a Democrat but a honest one that despised the abandonment of basic Democrat principles once sacredly held like freedom of speech, rights for dissenting views and healthy distrust of institutions like the FBI and intelligence community

Greenwald was never one of the most militant of the Progressive/Democrat media-spinners. But he was on their side for a long time, and then he wasn’t. Very few people in professional media ever undergo a public conversion like that. I’d be curious to know what happened that caused him to do so.

He was always open about being a liberal but he was never a dishonest spin doctor. That's really why he seems so different from all the left wing media now.

Liberals used to be so hard core in defense of freedom of speech and freedom to stand against ANY government infringement on liberty.

That has completely flipped 180 degrees the last few years.

i have no issues with anyone who is liberal, never have had an issue. Many of the political and social issues can be viewed from opposite directions, all with equal or relatively equal reasonableness. you and i can both see a problem and have different opinions on how to address it. i abhor the unending spin of ridiculous positions and assertions, it keeps us from addressing real issues and improving our society, but it seems much of the media has taken to just that... say whatever gets ratings regardless of the merit.
