MyBB CBB Week 8 General Thread/Laughable scores
Not sure I saw this thread for this week.

On Monday, #3 Purdue was beaten at home by Wisconsin.

Last night LSU legitimized themselves in men's college basketball by beating Kentucky. Also Marquette got a big win over ranked Providence (not used to saying that).

I've heard of SEC bias but this is ridiculous!

One of the AP voters voted Georgia #4 last week... in men's basketball! Georgia last week lost to Gardner-Webb!

It turns out the writer had meant to vote for Gonzaga 01-wingedeagle

Is there any team in the country looking worse than expectations than Michigan right now? 7-6 #54 in the NET.

Memphis would be in the discussion. However, the Tigers have been missing lots of players for various games.

Memphis would be in the discussion. However, the Tigers have been missing lots of players for various games.

Michigan is 1-6 in Q1/2 games right now.
Memphis is 4-3 in Q1/2 games right now.

Michigan with no bad losses while Memphis has 2, with 1 of them being @ Tulane. Tulane right now after beating Cincy is up to #140 so they're only 5 spots away from being a Q2 loss, which normally isn't considered so bad.

I think I'd have Michigan far more disappointing than Memphis. And the gap is growing rapidly.

7-6 and right outside of the top 50 in NET is seriously suspect given the schedule and wins. SDSU and UNLV might be the best wins. That’s not saying much.

1 thing for them- they have played only 2 games against teams outside the top 200. So that helps out quite a lot....

SDSU will probably wind up being a Q1 win when all is said and done.

RE: CBB Week 8 General Thread/Laughable scores
So NET after last nights games.....
top 75 teams- so Q1 for road games
B10 10
SEC 9
B12 8
BE 7
ACC 6
P12 4

top 30 teams- so Q1 for home games
B10 6
B12 5
SEC 5
BE 4
P12 3
ACC 1

That's going to be so different for the ACC IMO. Normally they can get extra teams in because of beating each other, but that won't be the case at all this year looks like.

RE: CBB Week 8 General Thread/Laughable scores
man we get 3 really good games today/tonight
San Francisco vs Loyola Chicago
Ohio St @ Indiana
Iowa @ Wisconsin

That 1st one is going to be a big game for the WCC. A SF win and the WCC is in really good shape for 4 bids. Would give SF 3 Q1 wins before conference play even.

Marquette reminds me so much of Shaka Smart VCU. Just pounding Georgetown 42-24 early on. I know the Hoyas aren't great, but wow.

RE: CBB Week 8 General Thread/Laughable scores
so looking this weekend should mark the 50% point of the season games wise. We're up already to 2,646 games and have another over 115 scheduled today.

Selection Sunday now is only 8 weeks from tomorrow I believe.

Marquette is a great spot for him. He’ll excel with their natural recruiting pool
