Conference USA Champion UTSA enters the game at #24 in the AP poll with a 12-1 record.

MWC runner-up San Diego State sits at #24 in the CFP rankings with an 11-2 mark.

That's an overall record of 23-3. You're not going to find many bowl games to top that!

The UTSA call on second down and eight with the reserve QB cold off the bench and 6:30 to go ... I just don't get it. You've got three downs to get a first and you jack the ball 30 yards downfield. Keep it simple and get three yards. Then you've got two downs to four to five yards with your starting QB. Not that UTSA would have won otherwise. But playcalling of that type simply baffles me. And we see it often.

Congrats to San Diego State on an outstanding season to to UTSA for a fine campaign, too.

Yes, off to a brilliant start. Also beat the MAC East champ yesterday.

But 4-0 can finish 4-4 (I think the MW plays 8 bowls this year). Each bowl is a challenge.
