RE: Ashland DII game
I'm watching but I don't fault anybody for not watching. UC is struggling with this team.

It's more of the same except against even lesser competition.

I guess UC's offensive strategy is for each player to do whatever the heck they want.

It still looks like I'm watching a pickup game at the park.

The defense has been horrific.

Just saw two open layups. Leading 10-2 in paint.

Do we have coaches?

The best offensive strategy when you have a significant size advantage is apparently to keep bricking threes.

IMO, the offense should rotate around Saunders.

We have taken 23 shots with 15 being 3 pointers. The big players are not even getting the ball. Coaching is terrible.

No need to give them the ball. They never do anything with it when they get it.

They don't even grab offensive rebounds when they are accidentally in position - they just try to swat the ball outside. If they do happen to get a rebound they don't go back up strong with it - they either dribble outside or pass it outside.

UC's big guys are just plain soft.

Did it ever occur to anyone that Wes KNOWS he can dominate in the paint at any point, but is using this game to work on their shooting to try and get guys out of their funk(s)? I mean, what good is it to totally dominate and crush a D-II team? Might as well use it as a glorified practice. Rotate everyone in. As long as they end up winning the game, who cares??

Miller rotates everyone in every game. If UC has dominated in the paint in any game this year so far I can't remember it.

UC has too much size and speed for Ashland to hang with them, but they are not playing very good basketball. Shot selection needs to improve at some point.

The offensive sets are just ugly. Got a little better looking during the run there. We have like 9 coaches on the team, think we could get better passing/looks especially against this level of competition.

By far our most successful offense is give DDJ the ball and get out of the way. It works against Ashland, but against the AAC we are going to struggle.

I'm surprised we've made it this far in the thread without complaining about Matt Noonan & Kevin Johnson. Usually a go to when the team isn't playing the best. I'm proud of everyone.

People don't comment on game threads when we win big. They come on here when we lose. This is a therapy group.

This game is essentially a scrimmage, probably will be our least watched game of the season.

RE: Ashland DII game
They were headed for a 30 point win and lost focus. This team isn't good enough to lose focus. Not much to take away from today. Much easier to shoot against a d2 team. Windows are larger. Helped get davenport comfortable.

Maw is in his head with his shot right now. Can't even hit free throws where he's been money his entire career.
