All American Teams
There's 5 official All-American teams. And numerous unofficial ones.

The official ones are Walter Camp, Associate Press, FWAA, AFCA and the Sporting News.

The Walter Camp one is already out:
1st Team: Cobe Bryant
2nd Team: Sauce Gardner

RE: All American Teams
With 6-10 NFL draftees, 3 All American's, 4-5 guys in the Top 10 for individual player awards, and the 8th place Heisman candidate....how can anyone think this team doesn't have talent and didn't deserve to be in the Top 4 for the CFP.

RE: All American Teams
With four of the five official pickers out, Sauce is a consensus 1st team All-American and Cobe is a consensus 2nd team All-American.

(you need 3 of the 5 to be a consensus All-American, and all 5 to be a unanimous All-American)

Wow, that brings back memories of Decembers past.

For the youngest here, Hope's NBC Christmas Special always featured college football's All-Americans, and Bob would introduce each one during a special segment. I remember watching UC great, linebacker Mike Woods on that show--probably in December 1977. Seeing him standing next to entertainment legend Hope, was big time recognition for what was then a mostly obscure UC football program.

Sadly, Mike passed too soon at age 54. But he was an incredible talent who was drafted in the second round by the Baltimore Colts and had a four year career. I'm sure he couldn't have imagined what his Bearcats accomplished this season. Sometimes, I can't hardly believe it either, remembering what UC football was like in the late seventies.

As the song lyric goes, "these are the good old days". We need to enjoy the next 16 days as a semi-finalist and cherish these memories forever, regardless of what happens in Dallas. And then again, maybe Ridder will be dancing around with that big trophy in Indianapolis after winning it all.
