That Red helmet is bad ass. Is it the best one in College football? Obviously i am biased but it has to be one of the best designs.

I didn't realize how many uniform combinations they had until recently. All their uniforms are pretty cool, but that red helmet, red shirt and pants they had at the conference championship may just be my favorite.

I'm a traditionalist and I still prefer the glossy black helmets. I don't mind uni variations but the black helmet is what made the UC brand IMO. Good guys wear black...

We might be the only team in CFB with black as our primary color. Other teams create special jerseys in black because it’s such a cool color. We should wear black as often as possible.

That said, the red helmet is badass. No denying it.

I'm admittedly biased because of the one I've got sitting on my bookshelf in my home office from my time...but the late 00s black helmets with the red metallic fleck were incredible. Only think that sucked about them was the graphics being clumsily placed on them and falling off in the changes in weather.

I love that red helmet.

I'd like to see an all black uniform with a black matte helmet and a black c paw that you can somewhat see think it would be cool for nipp at night or bowl games

As long as they stay away from the good humor man white look, not sure I care what they wear.

love the white helmet. the all white despite the bad association which is a horseshit accusation because that team never had a chance to begin with. hold grudges on inanimate objects unless of course you just don't like the combination in general which is your personal preference of course

either the all white or black on white with white helmets. that's just me. don't care for the red

I’m of a similar opinion. I think our all black look is by far the best. Even non-Bearcat fans have brought this up to me this year and questioned moving away from our most intimidating and unique look. I’d prefer to have a distinct identify instead of going the Oregon route with the uniforms. I’d stick with the all black at home except for one Ring of Red or early season whiteout. If we want to get funky with the uniform combinations, do it on the road.

But, at the same time, the multiple uniform combinations is apparently a hit with recruits. So if the trade off for better recruits and 13-0 seasons is a few tacky uniform combinations, I’m down with whatever they want to wear.

Bolded, I've come around to that too. If I were choosing for this coming Cincinnati game on the biggest stage EVER, it would be black pants, white jerseys, and glossy black helmets with the C-Paw on both sides. I say that about the helmets since 'Bama uses numerals on their lids.

I'm a huge fan of the all black; it's just so distinct. Outside of that I agree with the above that the black helmet, white jersey, black pants, is also a superb combo.

I thought the all red at the AAC championship was a bummer since Houston wears red.

And as much as I'm a fan of our "standard" jersey, I do love checking out the wacky stuff Oregon does.

Rath, I used to use the same "Good Humor man" comparison back when the Reds wore the white hats. I hated that look too.

Check out the Helmet Project site. Pretty comprehensive look at all of the helmets yes have used over the years, however it looks like UC's (at least) hasn't been updated this year. Regardless, this site has been around for a long time and I check it out once a year or so.

I like that site as well. My favorite entry is the 1990 BGSU game where we wore a helmet without a logo because we were such a terrible program our helmet logos hadn’t arrived by gameday. We’ve come a long way.
