I was at a bar in Asheville that had the SEC championship game on every tv and I had to beg them to change one of the tv’s to the Sun Belt game.

The SEC game was one of the biggest games of the year for the public at large, and even the SBC championship game broadcast would not shut up about it :( Really bad slot matchup

Hopefully the new media deal will start preventing that sort of thing

Going head to head for the game that had more viewers by a larger margin isn't great. If SBC is SEC-lite then you can't play at the same time as them if the teams are in the same footprint. All the tshirt fans will tune into the SEC game. I made sure to watch the SBC game and not even flip over to the SEC one.
We had both on, streaming to different screens in the living room. Do the ratings count streamers? I would assume so at this point.

Being up against Bama/GA was a losing position for anyone. I'm surprised other games were even scheduled in that slot.

One thing the commish needs to fix. Insane to have two southeastern conferences play at the same time.

You know you don’t have to keep the same friends your entire life right?

I can imagine how that conversation would go…

Gill: Hey ESPN, we don’t care for our time slot. Can you please move it?

ESPN: We don’t care to for that ~$30 million dollar check we write you every year. Can we change that?

Gill: On second thought, 2:30 sounds perfect. Have a nice day.
