RE: MBB vs EIU
Question for the regulars: I only get to 1 or 2 MBB games per year but I was there last night. Seemed like the crowd was larger than usual and more energetic than in recent years (German's record-breaking game excluded). What's your take?

I thought it was a little more noisy than typical.

I wasn't there so I can't comment to anything other than what I could see on tv. But the crowd looked typical from the tv standpoint.

A couple things that did look like a difference. For one, I think there were more cheerleaders or sliverettes than typical for some reason. Also, I felt like there were more students behind the basket (seen during free throws) so that was nice since, at the games I've been to, there are typically about 6 students in the "Dog Pound".

Glad to see they finally got another win. Too bad they don't have more home games.

RE: MBB vs EIU
Thanks for the feedback. I thought there were more students there than I remembered, which was nice to see. Hopefully 2-3 years from now the 1,153 is up to 2K+ at a minimum (which is still pretty damn low). I will say this for the team--they don't shoot or handle the ball very well, and they don't seem to have a very high basketball IQ, but they busted their butts from tip-off to the final horn. I appreciated that. Made the $8 ticket, roundtrip from Wheaton, and $9 can of Dawgma worthwhile. I look forward to seeing where Burno is able to take this program.

I saw much of 2nd half on the tube. Williams looked raw. Good. Raw. Really good. I think he has a lot of upside. Other than that, no individual stood out -- good or terrible. They look like a team that is trying to learn to play together. I think the key with this team in the immediate future is just to make strides. Get a little better very day. A little smoother. I little more accustomed to your teammates. Keep working hard and good things will come. It's ok if the steps they take are just baby steps for now.

EIU is not very good. Williams stood out most of the minutes other than Williams are holdovers from prior coach. I would have assumed other than hankerson Burno would be playing others to see what he has moving forward.
