The CUSA painted on the USM field was already being removed yesterday. It appeared as a smudge at the game with FIU.

Seems like an apt depiction of CUSA's leadership...a smudge.

That is actually a very positive depiction. The truth is a ‘little’ more descriptive than that.
The good thing for everyone outside of CUSA is that it seems the leadership will remain the same.

I hope that happens next season with all of us working with JMU on their transition. I can’t wait for the full 14 to start battling in the SBC. It will be fun stuff.

I voted 13 as JMU must transition and I also hope all SBC football teams help JMU out with scheduling.

I see Southern Miss being the only add-on playing SBC football next year, but I darn sure hope I'm wrong.

Assuming Marshall, USM, and ODU join in 2022, why not just put JMU on the schedule as if they were a conference team but not allow them to win the championship (assuming they aren't bowl eligible because of transition rules)?

Long story short, let's just go ahead and schedule it like all 14 teams are in the conference and ready to go.

No way USM and ODU are in for 2022 and Marshall isn't...unless for some reason the SBC isn't willing to run with 13 for 1 year.

No ill will intended. Comment based solely on Marshall slow approach to accepting, publicly, the invite to Sunbelt. If had my rathers we’d all be in the Sunbelt for 2022. Get the party started.

Understood. Our slow approach was due mainly to other administrative issues that we were having, and what we viewed as the 'proper' order behind getting the President announced before the an official conference announcement. Things looked much more screwed up than they actually were. That said, my folks say we want to move for 2022, and are working with the Sun Belt and CUSA to crunch numbers and see what's possible. If I was a betting man right now I'd say it's 75% chance we are in the Sun Belt for 2022, but that partly depends on negotiating with CUSA and ensuring our leaving with less than the required notice doesn't end in lawsuits and/or legal issues. I wish the CUSA bylaws were available online to see exactly what the language is, but to my knowledge they have never been leaked. So we will see, but I REALLY hope it happens ASAP.

This is how I think it plays out. JMU with a full SBC schedule

I want to say 14 but my gut says 10 because I feel like something will happen and we'll be in CDOA again next season.
