This is just his second trip for us. He has been driving for years and had very good references. Had a D/S and physical week before last.

Thanks for your input!
Not much would be my guess. I feel that the administration is not going to be particularly disturbed if we turn in another mediocre season. I think they like the guy -- who doesn't . But I don't see that they are demanding much in the way of excellence from him.
Anyhow, nearly half our schedule is against patsies. So we should be able to eke out 6 or 7 wins. For me to be impressed, we will have to beat Bama, LSU, Auburn or Alabama, Arkansas and win the rest of our SEC games. It really doesn't do us a lot of good to have nearly all our victories over LaMon and such.
The question is, can Clappy learn anything. The man is deficient in (1) motivational skills and (2) good sense about the game as it is played. He also seems to be capable of being intimidated when the opponent plays tough.
We also have another problem, and that is that our much ballyhooed passing game was not so effective last season. Can Eli grow up this year? Can the receivers and he act as though they are on the same play?

Well, if Rx was the "hamburglar", I'd say he was wanting to place an order.

I thought he'd already been given an extension, but maybe I mixed that up with somebody else (Barnes? or another FB coach)
I was surprised to read he'd been extended at this particular point. This coming year is crucial to his staying, imo. I'd have waited to see if he improves - considerably - over '02. I think the emphasis ought to be cutting the losses as opposed to upping the wins... The 6 losses were just not becoming of a strong program. We up the wins by playing the ULM's etc.. Tell him to cut the L's to 3, then we'll extend you.
Of course, I also understand the thinking that you have to express confidence, etc, by having a coach in place with a good contract, to attract recruits.
