Why didn’t USF get to run the play with 8 seconds left.

because if a QB gets sacked with 8 secs on the clock and no timeouts, you don't have enough time to lineup and snap the ball. you don't get the benefit of a stopped clock because they're checking if it's an INT and then snap the ball with 8 secs as if you called a timeout.

A total "Dick Move" by the refs. They said it themselves. McClains Knee was down with 9 seconds on the clock. The clock should have stopped for the refs to reset the ball. Yet again total BS and I still hate this conference for not getting new ones.

We got screwed. Again. This is why I don’t even care. Missed the face masking call, then ****** us at the end.
I cannot even be mad anymore. It’s every year how this same BS happens.

It's UCF, did you expect us to get a fair deal. They got some home cookin. Expect a ton more next year. UC, Houston and UCF will be treated like P5 teams and enjoy all the bias. I'm calling it now.

the USF QB threw the ball to him and he thought he picked it off and is running around because he thinks he sealed the game. how is he suppose to know the QB threw the ball to him from his knees.

What’s he supposed to do? The refs didn’t call holding all damn night, and there were three face masks with only one called.

I don’t mind losing. I don’t like losing when it’s taken out of the hands of the players. Called correctly, we win that game.

I don’t have an issue with the player but the ref can’t let him run out the clock when he technically didn’t have possession.

Well in that case, the refs have to place the ball at the nine yard line and put 8 seconds back on the clock.

It's one or the other - delay of game, a penalty, or unintentional, but either way, the ball has to go back to the 9 and 8 seconds are put back on the clock.

You don't get to run around with the ball for those seconds because you think something happened that didn't.

time would have run out like it always does in these situations if it's treated as a sack with the QB having the ball in his possession and trying to get his team lined up to snap the ball.

That's my poin. The ref even said the play was dead but then said the clock ran out when the replay clearly showed 8-9 seconds left depending on your perspective.

oh so they should have given USF a defacto timeout because instead of just eating the sack (because he knows the game is over if he eats the sack) he throws it to the opposition from his knees?

Time very well might have run out, but the UCF player kept the ball and didn't give us a chance to stop it. Can't do that.

Sadly, the refs let him do it.
