Hope UTEP can pull off a win tonight. Great gage to see where this UTEP team will stack up against a future CUSA member.

The spread is NMSU -7.5, so that's indicative of how the game should go more or less

So far, love the effort and the defensive ability of this team. We have a lot of work to do on the offensive side of the ball. Missing a lot of shots, and not taking very good shots.

We are also getting outrebounded but I expected that.

Not only is the shooting bad but UTEP is doing a terrible job playing offense in the half court.

Las Cruces does a terrific job at supporting their team. Also, their tv production value is fantastic.

The court for New Mexico St. is very basic or shall I say retro. Looking forward to them adding CUSA logos on it very soon.

From what I understand its a completely new floor that was just installed. The last one was damaged I think?

Yeah, we had a beautiful new floor design that was damaged by humidity/warping just before the season started. This floor is being rented lol.

I agree, NMSU is very impressive. UTEP will be much better in a few years, right when New Mexico St. is joining the league. The men's basketball in the new CUSA will be really good.

I think with our defense we can be competitive in conference play. This OOC schedule will toughen this team up and prepare them for LA Tech, UAB, WKU, Etc.

New Mexico State wins 77-71 in a game that, if I'm being fair, isn't as close as the final score might indicate.

I do anticipate the rematch in El Paso will be a much tougher game to win, though. Here's to the rematch on 12/3.

You've got a new coach, a mostly new team of transfers, and this was your first D1 game of the season. There's no telling what this team might look like in just a few weeks! The Aggies will have to play better than we did at times tonight if we're going to win again. It'll be fun and I'm sure you'll have a big crowd!

I think you'll compete well in CUSA this season.

On the bright side for UTEP fans, you covered the +7.5 spread. Given what the lead was, I wonder if this game will be on SVP's Bad Beats segment.....
