You would think. Then add our assistance coach Bryant Stith, who is Virginia's all-time leading scorer. Heard they don't want any part of ODU, maybe because the lost to the 5 win team. Seems like JMU thinks of themselves more like UVa and ODU aligns more to VaTech. We had a long MBB series with Tech till they lost something like 5 of the 6 games and Greenberg shut that down. You think with all the Hokie fans in the 757 they would want to play here.

UVa 14 point in the first half, was that a record?

Correct..a way to create some positive PR when taking an L to a "lower" opponent. Bennett has refused to play ODU as long as he's been there. Also, his comment makes it sound like they travel to local schools every year. The last time they traveled to a non-P5 schools (that wasn't a neutral/holiday tourney) was at VCU in 2017.

Tony Bennett said a couple years ago that his team would have no benefit to playing ODU since our defensive scheme is just like there's and they see that everyday in practice. Yada, yada.... Must be something with Jones and his time there. But, looks like we can't get Tech or Georgetown or any of the teams we played when Blaine was here. The ODU AD ought to say to a team like Auburn, you want to play the ladies, agree to play the men too or it ain't happening.

BT was able to hit VT and Georgetown at the right time, but unfortunately, even if he was still the HC they wouldn't play us anymore. I know that VT said after the 2007 game, to never put ODU back on the schedule.

That was dirt bag Greenberg who said that as long as he was VaTechs coach they would not come back to Norfolk.

Absolutely....and even with his departure, their schedule strategy has still stayed consistent, even with multiple attempts. Most currently, any attempts to include MBB games with the FB game negotiations were shut down quickly.
