Cincinnati is lucky to be as high as they are after playing a SOS of 90 and struggling against schools that those ahead of them would be beating by 30 with 2nd and 3rds playing the 4th qt

The advantage for P5 schools is they get chance after chance at playing ranked teams or schools right out of the top 25. That's also a disadvantage because if you play a bad game like Cincinnati did a few times this season....

you get beat.

Yep Cincinnati would have already lost 2, ULL would have a losing record. UTSA would probably have winning record but several loses.

When you play a crap ooc schedule to go along with a crap conference schedule. What have you actually proved? You can beat crappy teams?

CC 129 out of 130 has not beat a team with a winning record 4-4 is their best wins and that came down to the end

ULL 127 out of 130 win over App St and 5 others over 1 or 2 win schools

UTSA 121 out of 130 has not beat a team with a winning record 4-4 is their best wins and both came down to the end

bull****.

There is a clear divide between the cream of the crop P5s and the top G5s, I'll give you that. But middle of the pack P5s? I'm not conceding that they for sure would be 8-0 with the same schedule as us.

-#17 Miss St lost at Memphis a week before UTSA went into the Liberty Bowl and beat them. They also needed a miraculous comeback to beat La Tech at home. UTSA took care of them handedly in Ruston.
-#20 Minnesota lost to 3-5 Bowling Green. Only beat Miami (OH) by 5.

Avoiding letdowns is part of the deal. Winning every single game on paper is a lot easier than doing it in reality.

Tech played Miss State fresh before our QB was layed our several times against UTEP. Against UTSA, our QB was a shell of his former self. And our O line was exposed

Tech should have beat SMU also with a fresh QB

Maybe if there wasn't so much time spent going at each other's throats, or having every thread derailed with talk about hyphens, or who has the most toxic fanbase there would be a little more objectivity around here.

Good post

Okay. I don’t think you would find many people who would argue that Boise has been the very best non-power conference team this century. From 2000 to 2020 they went 202-41 against FBS competition. That’s an unbelievable 83% winning rate over 20 years not counting any games they played against lower level competition.

They played 206 of those games against what we G5 teams. In those games they were 184-22, a flat stupid 89% winning rate. Didn’t matter if the were home (101-10) or on the road (83-12), they were consistently dominate.

During that same period they played a total of 37 teams we now call P5. In those games they were 18-19, a sub-.500 team. They did do well at home going 6-2, so they won 75% of home games which was 16 percentage points below their 91% home G5 win rate.

Did we expect anything else from the Committee? I was hoping we would, but knew better.
