'21-'22 CAA Basketball and Other Games of Interest
Luke Loewe started for Minnesota in their opening exhibition game last night, finishing with 6 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 turnovers, 1 block and 1 steal in 26 minutes.

Looks like he has added elevation and a little leg kick to his jumper beyond the arc.

26 minutes is a lot for an exhibition like this. I guess he will be a starter.

For the curious, Neumann (not Alfred E.) University is a D-III Catholic school in Aston, PA.

Jim Rullo, a former Drexel star from their championship days in the 90's, is Neumann's head coach. I'm sure that played into the reason why they were invited to play Drexel tonight.

I see a lot of great games tonight for the CAA. Not saying the talent is ready for upsets, but the league could really turn some eyes with good performances against this slate of teams

It would, but, other than your guys game against a D-III, all the other contests are on the road, so no easy job there.

No doubt. Not sure I see a win on the docket (maybe NU, UNCW or a hot shooting Delaware team?), but seeing quality teams is a start. Last couple years have truly lacked quality games as a whole, so its nice to see.

Realistic chances for upsets would be Delaware over Davidson, UNCW over Ill. St., and Hostra over Houston. All against midmajors in conferences we once were on par with. If we could win two of three of those it would be a great start.

Houston is preseason 15 so not as realistic as the others.

I don't put much stock in pre season rankings. ECU beat Houston last year and they are still a midmajor. But because of their ranking it would be a great win.

Hofstra wont be as good as people think. I may regret this later, but I think they are a bottom half CAA team this season. I think Houston pastes them tonight. They will improve as the season goes, but new coach and many new players, they have a steep curve.

RE: '21-'22 CAA Basketball and Other Games of Interest
A few observations about Delaware:
1) They play no defense
2) Ryan Allen has totally disappeared in his four year career
3) If UD is truly the CAA favorite, then the CAA will be far worse than expected

I think Delaware is just good on paper, but they still have the same issues as the past. Talented, but underachieving. Towson winning, but dont look good at all. Hofstra off to a good start

Northeastern trailed Colgate most of the game, and lost, 65-58.

Shaquille Walters with a whopping 7 turnovers and fouled out.

Huskies exposed for lack of outside shooters.

Hofstra continuing to play with a lot of confidence. 47-38, Hofstra, with 16 minutes to go.
