2021-2022 Bubas Cup Standings
My intent is to list the point totals for each sport as they complete their season, add the additional point for tournament championships, then list the Cup standings for all sports completed at that time. This should give us a running total as the season progresses and allow for easier corrections if needed once the conference office posts their standings on their website.

Women's soccer regular season finished first, then men's and women's cross country. Men's soccer is not being sponsored by the conference this season, all four teams from last season are in other conferences this season. Hopefully the conference will post the first Cup standings after soccer finishes their conference tournament next Sunday.

ODU isn’t back in the conference yet, and they will be tied for Third for most Bubas Cup with TxSt. They will only be behind South Alabama(15) and Arkansas St(3). No one else in the conference has won one.......

Past members MTSU and USF has 9 and WKU has 8. Jacksonville(Not St) also has 1.

RE: 2021-2022 Bubas Cup Standings
Okay as a new FunBelt school Alum/fan someone has to explain me why there is a cup named after Boob and Ass cleverly disguised as Bubas. Sounds like an audition for porno magazine. I searched for Bubas but all i found was Bubbas burgers which by the way are the best burgers one can have if you visit the island of Kauai make sure you taste one. You'll never go back to eating the frozen burger crap from supermarkets ever again.

About the Bubas Cup
The Sun Belt Conference’s annual all sports championship trophy, the “Bubas Cup,” is named after the conference’s first commissioner.

A native of Gary, Indiana, Vic Bubas graduated from Gary Lew Wallace High School in 1944. Bubas was a two-time All-Conference selection at North Carolina State, helped the Wolfpack win four Southern Conference titles, and played in the 1950 NCAA Final Four.

He graduated in 1951 and stayed on as an assistant coach at North Carolina State until 1959, at which time he was named the Head Basketball Coach at Duke University. He took the Blue Devils to the Final Four in 1963, 1964 and 1966. Duke was ranked in the top fifteen of the nation in eight of his 10 seasons as head coach. Bubas posted a career record of 213 wins and 67 losses, winning an astonishing 76.1 percent of his games. He served as a Duke administrator from 1969-1976, including the last three years as Vice President of the university.

On October 6, 1976, Bubas was named the first Commissioner of the Sun Belt Conference. He was named by the NCAA to the prestigious Division 1 Basketball Committee in 1979 for a six-year term and served as chair of the prestigious group for the 1984-85 season. Bubas served as Sun Belt Conference Commissioner for 14 years until his retirement in 1990. He led the conference during a period in which its membership increased from six to eight and the number of sports sponsored grew from four to 10.

RE: 2021-2022 Bubas Cup Standings
The conference office has posted the Bubas Cup standings on its web page:
https://sunbeltsports.org/sports/2022/2/...bubas.aspx

This gives me the opportunity to see if my calculations match theirs. The only difference I saw was in the Soccer category. After investigation, I discovered that ULM had forfeited two of their conference matches, one was a tie against Georgia State and the other a win over Coastal Carolina. This changed their conference record from 5-4-1 for a total of 16 points, good enough for third place, to 4-6, which placed them in a tie for seventh. Here are the corrected standings for soccer. I will put each team in order with their conference record, their conference point total and the Bubas Cup points they earned:

1. Arkansas State 7-2-1/22/11
2. South Alabama 6-2-2/20/10
3. Georgia Southern 4-3-3/15/8.5
Georgia State 3-1-6/15/8.5
5. Coastal Carolina 4-5-1/13/6.5
Texas State 4-5-1/13/6.5
7. Troy 4-6/12/4
ULM 4-6/12/4
Little Rock 3-4-3/12/4
10. Louisiana 3-5-2/11/2
11. Appalachian State 2-8/6/1

Here are the corrected Bubas Cup Standings after the completion of the fall sports:
Team/points
1. South Alabama 42
2. Arkansas State 39
3. Coastal Carolina 36
4. Texas State 34
5. Appalachian State 32
6. Troy 26
7. Louisiana 24.5
8. Georgia State 24
9. UTA 23.5
10. Georgia Southern 20
11. ULM 18
12. Little Rock 16

Now for the start of the "winter" sports:

You'll make up for that a little by getting Men's Soccer points, which most of the league still won't be able to obtain.

Do you not sponsor track ?

If you don't have track and field, forget it, especially with TXST and ARST having such good track programs.

Sell your boats and buy some cleats and a shot put....LOL

ODU dropped track and cross country decades ago, long before we even got football. But I wish we had it. However, sailing isn't going anywhere. They're very good and well funded by donors.
