That's the safe bet, of course. Still, a fan can dream! There was at least one year recently when Buffalo would have gotten an at-large if they had not won the tournament. The MAC will be strong this year. I would not be shocked to see someone get an at-large, whether or not it's us. I would for sure be willing to put even money on the MAC getting at least three teams total (men and women) into the NCAA tournament.
Always living the dream. However, this is definitely a year when most of the MAC schools have decided to schedule up. So, the opportunity to get an at large is there more than usual. Gotta win some of the big games, but there are a lot of good teams on MAC schedules, mostly road games that will be quad 1 or quad 2, here's games against teams that were top 100 level last year or picked to win their league this yr. UT, Kent, Akron, BSU might pick up another quality opponent or 2 in tournaments but those are 3 game events and too uncertain to speculate who plays who.

Plus, as usual non-conf schedules are road heavy so the computer ratings for the league should be strong if teams show up and have decent non-conf records, even without a lot of big wins. May not be a 2018-19 Buffalo level team in the league, but MAC should see more teams in the top 100 than usual.
