Tom has his sources but I don't think anyone at Marshall is talking. I almost bet everyone has a gag order on. Especially since we are in the middle of a presidential search.

There are absolutely no tea leaves to read out of Huntington. But the Marshall president, BOG or interim AD hasn't come out to deny anything that the TV stations or papers have said over the last week. Usually if they are barking up the wrong tree you get a statement from someone denying it.

Vibe I received is the BOT is split on whether to go SB or stay in CUSA. Seems the soccer question is a big hurdle. With no President or AD to guide things along I suspect things are getting bogged down with different opinions from the BOT members.

Dr Gilbert is now a lame duck but not an interim. He has been president of Marshall since July 2016. In the last year the Marshall BOG has cleaned house. In Jan Doc Holliday's contract wasn't renewed, in April Dr Gilbert said he wouldn't be seeking another contract and at the end of July Mike Hamrick the ADs contract wasn't renewed.

My guess is that once a new president is named, when they settle in after a few months then a new search for an AD will begin. As much as I like Jeff O'Malley I don't see the BOG keeping him.

If you all are this impatient then you would have rolled UCF down a hill in tar and feathers then, because they made CUSA wait almost a month before giving their decision.
