The people here that attended, and cheer, for Liberty. I hold no ill will to you. You’re in a tough spot.

However the university itself continually shows its ass. The leadership is despicable and I continually hope App State removes Liberty from the schedule.

I know this thread will get locked, but since I didn't get to comment on the other Liberty thread: what a garbage university. How anyone could send their kids their I'll never know. Imagine having a daughter go to this dump?

It’s an absolute joke. The article is fantastic, showing the university doing its best to cover this whole thing up less than a month ago by turning off social media comments. I guess when there are open FBS conference spots, it’s a bad time for your dirty laundry to air.

Just to be sure, ALL schools are just diploma mills. They mean nothing, and never has - unless you're a doctor, lawyer, or something like that. This coming from a guy that has 2 degrees and attended 7 universities. Being thirsty for knowledge is good, seeking that knowledge from universities is what makes me an idiot. I've repented from my ways though, quite thankful for Udemy, Coursera, etc. Anyway, carry on.

Despite a BBA and double masters in Accounting and Finance, I had taken menial jobs until the last 2 years, because I wanted to know what it felt like to make over 40k in a year. Ain't missing much. I don't regret going to GS, because somehow I managed to find Jesus there. Stands to reason, between the drugs, whores and whatnot that filled the place, either one found Jesus or one found something that would need medication for the rest of their life. But I digress, carry on.

That scenario said that the allegations were making their way through the student judicial system. The students could have been suspended from campus while their cases were pending. That is far different than actively covering up and punishing victims for reporting through your Student Code of Conduct.

I was going to comment something similar but honestly it doesn’t matter. The reaction from the first liberty poster says it all. No accountability, the knee jerk was “let me find any dirt I can on other schools to make mine look less ******”.

App should have expelled those two. Absolutely gross that we let them back on campus at all. Sad that it took a protest to bring it to light but I am hopeful in the decade since we’ve done better.

The last thread got locked because so many other threads (like this one) already existed. This thread is ok for now, but if it gets ugly the mod squad will be in to lock it or move it to the Smack board.

If all this is true I’m disgusted by Liberty leadership and a full review needs to be done. Liberty alumni and supporters have learned to let the truth come out b/c as this board shows, lots of people hate Liberty and several hit pieces have been put out there. I pray this report isn’t true, but it sounds factual. Anyone that covered this up or didn’t follow correct procedures should be terminated immediately.

+1 Its a travesty they are even called a "school". I often see folks mentioning well the cuck guy who got the school bad rep is not there anymore so it should be fine but if that's the case why didn't the board or what ever the **** they call it at the school didn't let those awesome sleeze bag Coach and AD's go? Don't tell me its because of contracts and BS because i know they can buy these guys out hundred times over.

The title IX investigator on one of the cases at liberty has since moved on....to Baylor. I mean really how does that even happen

Agreed, even to the extent any of these facts are skewed, LU continues to bring it on itself. It simply cannot do anything right when it comes to avoiding national scandals. The sad part is that 10s of thousands of people are the real Liberty and have nothing to do with this, yet they are hamstrung by a 5 man untouchable executive committee that have to choose to fire themselves.

Couldn't really agree with much in your post. I've always said that college is what you make it. So if that's what you made it, that's fine for you.

However in terms of being a diploma mill, you're not really understanding the difference between Liberty and other schools.

I think Liberty has done quite well for themselves as an independent and jumping on the CUSA ship would be a huge mistake. On the bright side, there is about to be 3 more independents for late season scheduling.

Their future schedule has plenty of blah G5 games with sprinkled in P5 H:H games. They can keep the same ratio of blah G5 and P5 H:H games in a conference. And they get the benefit of using whatever CFP and media payout to actually pay for those P5 home games and save themselves the trouble of paying for them.

I'm sure they thought we were one of those blah G5 games LOL

To be fair there are a lot of people who utilize Liberty’s online programs because it provides a cost effective way to study ministry, divinity, and other degrees in the evangelical-Christian area of study.
