And I’ve got my first idea for Sun Belt/ESPN.

Take those weekday Sun Belt games and make Friday their night. Market it as “Fun Belt Friday”

You could do the same thing with 1-2 hoops games.

Not the best idea when you consider the popularity of high school football in the south on Friday nights.......

Meh. I get player’s family but most people outgrew high school football the year they graduate.

Recruits can't visit on game days if they're also playing.

The discussion with ESPN should be to make the Thursday night games an ESPN game rather than ESPNU.

You don’t have to worry about high school games or anything else if you are winning. Arkansas State packed the stadium for ULM on a weeknight when we were winning a few years ago.

That’s fair. The counter programming with an AAC or ACC on ESPN when an SB game is on ESPNU should stop.

Add WKU and MTSU along with the Georgia schools.

Southwest adds La Tech NMSU and UTEP.

Everyone sings kumbaya.

Everyone except the current sun belt members who don’t want anything to do with that. Hard pass. We’re here to take the best not bail out the rest.

La. tech, burned too many bridges, so ain’t happening

Nmsu and utep, you’ll never sell . . too far outside the footprint, so again ain’t happening

I agree but maybe the new conferences can come up with some revenue sharing model where if one gets a playoff spot, they share it with the other half, and vice versa. Two potential slots better than one. It's probably <5% shot but it's possible if the travel costs add up. There could be something that the networks could work out. ESPN would pay more for the Appalachian and maybe another network pays a good chunk of change to the Southwest 2.0.

Then stage a Rose Bowl lite tie in in Atlanta or New Orleans. It's not out of the realm.
