For real. If App is the "reason" the SBC expanded to 14 then all should be thankful, as that means ESPN agreed to extra money and more linear games.

I love that in the end everything goes back to App. I also don't love that in the age of social media, rumors, and leaks, not a thing has come out of SM. Likely because they know they got super lucky to not have to worry about realignment themselves and are grateful to have ended up in the SBC 10 years ago. Imagine if we had been in CUSA like our fans dreamed, we'd be staring into the abyss like FIU and UTEP.

I didn't know we had the pull to singlehandedly add 3 teams.

App State reached out to CCU years ago, and had the full backing of stAte. App has pushed stAte desires too. The state of Tennessee is the only thing in between an App State and AState romance.



To add to this, the App State administration was taken aback about how Arkansas State lead the saving of the SBC and immediately was receptive to a lot of ideas.

It has always felt like the West leans on stAte and UL but seem to let stAte take the lead. The same is with App in the East. They are the detacto leaders with maybe GS in ULs role.

TXST seems to just follow stAte's lead. Once again due to the SBC giving them a home after the WAC died. I think ULM votes the same but from what I remember in the past, stAte, UL, and TXST vote pretty much together.

USM, Marshall, ODU, and WKU would be my guess since USM has unofficially been confirmed and according to in the know Marshall fans, their acceptance of an SBC invite was contingent on WKU and ODU coming along as well.

That's all conjecture though, it could just as easily stay at 2 with USM and Marshall
