Howdy. Let's talk facilities, road trips, and most importantly, tailgating!
I love road trips and we enjoy seeing our yellow in opposing venues. When you come to Hattiesburg, you'll find hospitality everywhere but on the field of play. My group has fed countless visitors during tailgating for football or during the games for baseball (Right Field Roost). You'll have a fun trip to see us.
I'm posting photos of our main three athletic venues. I've already been to many of the SunBelt campuses for games in the past. But please post photos so I can see where I will be enjoying road trips hopefully very soon.
SMTTT = Southern Miss To The Top, so SMTTT! Very happy to join your conference!

I think others can be good if the team and weather are good. TXST and GS fall into this category.
I haven't heard much else about tailgating elsewhere.
We’ll have to see about that.
I don't doubt it. Nothing beats tailgating in the south. I would like to hear opinions on tailgating at Troy and USA. I have just heard a lot about ULs over the years and seen pics. Nothing currently in the conference compares.

App State tailgating is really good too :)
You can see more about App State on ESPN tonight at: 7:30 EST (ESPN 2)
Here is a recent video about App State football - you can pause at 2:05 to see the stadium (it was completing construction at the time - it is done now and looks really sweet)

Someone already shared facility pics for GS
But GS fans love to tailgate. We have a good group that travels to tailgate as well. I always send visitors to GATA Row along Chandler Road for a friendly face and a beer if they make it to Statesboro and don’t know where to go. If you love being drenched in beer, Greek Row does a celebratory beer shower as the team drives by on the busses. If not, I’d recommend skipping Greek Row. We have a small turf field in one endzone inside our stadium called the field of dreams for kids to play two hand touch in during games. Beer is sold inside all athletic venues at GS
GATA = Get After Their Ass
We call ourselves GS as to not be confused with Georgia State who calls themselves GSU. I’m too used to the GSU moniker referring to Southern so I use GS for Georgia Southern and GAST for Georgia State on this board.

Football looks completely different since last USM visit. Can't do it justice in pics but the new Press Box has suites and the exterior was done in brick and a pro shop added. The end zone loge seating has dining and of course the field level waterfalls in the corners! The new Operations Facility opened a year and a half ago and is comparable to anything you will see in the G5 and many P5 programs. The Indoor Facility has been great and is a big help for sports like baseball, soccer and soon softball. Our baseball facilities are the most in need of improvement and will be next along with softball being added.
The restaurants near the stadium and downtown are very nice and the booze flows in the stadium suites and around town now (it prompted the downtown and chain restaurant revival).
Also noteworthy that ASU added a medical school and a campus in Mexico since the last time USM visited.
