Troy can be very good too. Their stadium is a good place to catch a game at. I went to several softball and baseball games there while I was at Ft Rucker. Football games too.

Texas St has a decent stadium as well. I went to the conference tourney over there about 5 years ago and had an awesome time. Although I expected their play to be better since they have entered the league, they’re far from deadweight.

Looking forward to adding a really good USM program to an already stiff SBC baseball league. Excited for these upcoming seasons. When we are all clicking, definitely looking at some multiple bid years. Coastal just got a new pitching coach, so hopefully we'll be back to form and won't have to score 15 runs and out hit everyone this season to win games.

Well that may change. Marshall doesn’t even have a permanent home stadium for baseball

You guys are getting turf, right? We put it in before the 2020 season. I didn't think I'd like it but frankly I don't even notice it now. It helps reduce rainouts because it drains very quickly once it stops. I'm glad to hear Fed is building the program there. He's a good guy and we had some really good teams in his years here.

If GS baseball could just get over the South Alabama hump in the post season…

Big expectations for our team this spring

TXST is weird. We typically underperform. In the COVID cut short 2020 season we were on fire and looking like the best team in years. All but one player came back for the 2021 season and somehow we ended up dead last. Nothing went right. I am thinking Coach Trout has some things to figure out this year or his reign as coach may be short lived.

GSU has a much, much brighter future in baseball, IMHO. Whenever the new stadium is built and ready, recruiting should improve drastically. Panthersville is a hot mess.

There is so much talent to recruit in the metro area, the new stadium will be a major game changer.

GS would have a handful of SB championships if it weren't for South Alabama.

Top to most of the way to the bottom, the SBC is a fine baseball conference.

How long is it supposed to be before your new stadium is ready?

In 2019, we had a 36 win, regular season conference championship - lost in conference championship game to Coastal. In 2020, we looked like a super regional team before the season got cut short. In 2021, with most of the same players, we looked awful...not sure how that happened. Trout seems to be recruiting really well but last year's team didn't look ready to play.

Marshall's new $18 million on-campus baseball stadium is scheduled to be open with the 2024 baseball season - the first season after all this realignment will take place, so we'll have a new stadium for the first post-alignment season where ever we land.

SBC will be one of the Top 4 baseball conferences, if not top 3 after USM joins the fold.
