RE: Sun Belt is the new P6!
Side points:
We're not going to ever claim P6. That claim dies with the AAC, who used the notion that they were as good or equal to most P5 leagues. There's not a soul in the Sun Belt who would claim that. IF our league stays together, makes the right adds, you can bet your bottom dollar will start claiming best G5 league the minute Boise State and Memphis go to the Big 12.

Yeah, I think there are some in the AAC today who wish they’d never started with that P6 stuff . . . . It put them on an island, sort of speak, probably best all around if that whole notion got buried . . .

The Sun Belt is 1-9 against the P5 this year. To your credit, you were 4-3 against the P5 last year (I'm counting BYU among the P5 in that stat btw). But in the two years prior to that, you were a combined 4-20 against the P5. So between the 4-20 in 2018/2019 and the 1-9 this year, the 4-3 COVID results from last year look more like an anomaly than anything else.
Don't get me wrong. Pretty solid football conference right now, but exaggeration isn't a good look for anyone.
To be fair, the guy claiming it isn't even a fan of a conference member...yet
Oh yeah, I was aware of that. I always look to see who's saying what. I commented though for two reasons.
The first was because putting a title like that in a thread is practically begging to be called out on it, just as many went after the AAC when their conference did the same. The AAC actually took the P6 moniker to the next level though, as their commissioner and everyone in the conference got behind it. And they weren't altogether wrong as some of their schools will now actually be moving up into a power conference.
The second reason is that two App State fans immediately seemed to throw in their support of the original post. No big deal though. Just wanted to chime in. I'm a recently retired teacher and have some extra time. lol

On a side and completely unrelated note, I regret I took the time to decode your binary signature - mostly because the periods were completely unnecessary haha.

Hah, yeah, when I got the idea for that I was debating whether or not to include the periods. I know they're not really necessary though. I guess I just wanted to be consistent since I have it written as "U.T.S.A." in my profile for whom I root for. Retired math teacher btw who had originally planned to major in computer science. lol

Will be funny when Tulame comes crying to join. Perhaps we (the SBC) throw ECU a bone. They were fun to beat up on as well.
The AAC is done. CUSA has been done for years.
Tuck Fulane.
Can't blame you for thinking that way. Since one of their peers is SMU, you know that they are going to be arrogant, uppity butts. From what I have seen, SMU fans seem to be fans of Texas first and SMU second. And they call themselves SMU fans????
