I think we should play this trivia game instead:

1) Which C-USA Western Division team located in Houston has UAB had a higher average season attendance in three of the past four years?

2) Which C-USA Western Division team located in Houston has UAB had a higher average season attendance in three of the last five years?

3) Which C-USA team in Alabama has one of the 10 largest crowds ever to show up for a C-USA game?

4) Which C-USA Western Division teams located in Houston do not?

5) Which C-USA Western Division schools located in houston need to take a long, frothy sip from the glass of shut-up juice before they talk about anybody's attendance?

Answers:
1) Rice;
2) Houston;
3) UAB;
4) Rice and Houston;
5) Rice and Houston.

Hey, you were the one who said the determining factor in UAB attendance is the quality of opponent you're playing.

Care to retract that nonsense yet?

Depends on what attendance figures will be used: the tickets distributed attendance or the butts in the seats attendance.

I'm tempted to make the five hour drive just so I can say I've seen a game in Legion Field. Would that make 1 a possible answer?

Show me where I said that's "the determining factor." It most certainly is A factor, but there were about 4-5 other factors going against UAB having a decent crowd this past Saturday.

Better question...

What percentage of the population of Houston even knows that the University of Houston has a football team.

1. 1%

2. 2%

3. 3%

4. 4%

5. 1/10th of 1 perent.

West is the Best - why don't you drive over to Legion Field as well. We need all the "butts" in the seats we can get, and you certainly qualify.

Go BLAZERS!

I understand. As long time football fan who had watched many, many games on TV from the place, I went to Legion Field last year to see the Tigers play. I think that the place is special. I understand why UAB fans aren't thrilled with playing there, but the place sure has a feel of history around it. Those 1950s concession stands in the end zone are amazing.

To address the thrust of this thread, UAB fans don't owe any of us an explaination regarding their attendance. They have been in this game 10 +/- years only.

I felt the same way the first time I stepped into the place. The UAB program is young and competes with Alabama, who is just 30 minutes down the interstate for fans. UAB is a quality product that many in Birmingham fail to realize.

I hope everyone remembers that great crowd Houston had against Oregon this year. National tv game against a PAC 10 opponent and Houston has what, maybe 15,000 there. Talk about embarrassing CUSA. How a Houston fan can post attendance smack is unreal. Houston the city, has four million people in it and Houston can't draw worth squat. Sad.
