RE: Game 5: Homecoming vs Albany
The Danes played Delaware much tougher than I expected. I’m thinking though that says more about Delaware than UAlbany.
The Dane defense was getting run over in the only game I saw then play at Syracuse. We aren’t the Orange though our running game can be explosive.
I think we will have a solid win here.

The Danes have had a tough schedule to start the season, so I don't believe they are as pitiful as their record indicates, but anything less than a solid win here would be disappointing.
Their rush defense has been miserable, so expect us to lean on that.

Yep. Their OL seems to be really bad too, Mofor is only averaging 3 yards a carry. He also hasn’t been the same since the knee injury, tho. It’s kind of surprising to see Undercuffler struggling, though that could just be a product of the OL.
Not sure if the mask mandate has been lifted or not, but i’m not sure that they’ll get a big turnout anyway, as the rain chances only seem to be getting higher.

Sagarin has a more complex methodology and on pure points in all previous games, puts the Tribe as a 9 point favorite. On a Recent Predictor level, where weight is accentuated against the more recent games, Tribe is a higher 12 point favorite.

I think that I read somewhere that 2004 was the last time that we opened up the season 2-0 in conference play. Not a bad year to try to emulate.

Correct. We started 3-0 that year, lost first conference game at #3 Delaware 28-31, crazy game where Dominique Thompson had something like 250 yards in receptions.
My mind went to 2009, probably the best team in my book, but we lost game 2 at Villanova starting us 1-1, the team we later lost in the semis.

I feel particularly bad for Crist. Seems he’s missing the entire season.

Fewest posts before a homecoming game that Ive ever seen. Team is 3-1. This, in parallel to our current attendance, might be bad news for the Tribe's longterm football future. Where is the buzz? AD? Anyone?

In latest CAA stats, UAlbany ranks last in both rushing offense and rushing defense. Tribe ranks 4th in both measures.
Run it down their throats and protect the deep pass.

I think Brian Mann is working this very hard. He’s been dealt a crappy hand to start but I have no reservations about his determination and competence to bring back some buzz to Zable.

Like you, I attended pre-Tribe W&M. I will always miss feathers, even though I don't miss the old mascot or name.
Go Tribe!
