Who would have thought we’d be headed into conference play 3-1?

Imagine if we cleaned up the penalties. This team is capable of greatness.

It's refreshing to see so many turnovers this year, after not getting many last season. It's a real game changer when the defense can just hand the ball back to Eleby.

8 sacks from the D!! That is outstanding! I feel like the D-line is finally healthy and playing to their potential.

I also think getting Selig and Ware back from injury this week helped the defense a lot.

Apparently San Jose was playing their backup QB most of the game. Did the starter get hurt & if so when? Makes sense b/c they were doing nothing on the passing game.

I think Selig played a great game. Heard his name a bunch.

Another great performance! Sad to see the small crowd. It happens when UM plays at the same time. Guarantee there were more WMU alum in the big outhouse than Waldo.

We crushed their starter... but it wasn't like he was doing anything when he was in there... I think he went out in the 3rd quarter...

Starkel took a big hit in the 3rd quarter I think, and SJSU experimented with a few backup QBs the rest of the game. But Starkel hadn't accomplished much in the game to that point. He was 6 of 14 for 55 yards, 0 TDs, 1 INT.

Lou said during the presser that SJSU QB got sacked a total of 9 times the last two years, we had 8! yes 8 sacks today.

Hats off to his defense today.

My biggest takeaways from last week and this week, while being hit with over 100 yards in penalties in both games, the Broncos won the turnover battle and the Time of Possession battle. Last week they held the ball for 40 minutes. Today they had it for 38 minutes if I read it right.

These last few games of owning TOP is reminiscent of 2016.

That team turned out pretty good.

I am hearing some thing coming out the locker room that has me a bit fired up for the rest of this season.

These guys want a MAC championship.

They believe in each other

And they believe in the coaches.

They could have easily stacked up another 30 on SJSU if they wanted…. But the defense was doing work!

This team is gonna get there if they can tighten up the discipline. 120yds in penalties? Not great:

I am. Shocked. SO reversal of last week, D vs O. OMG.

I need to chill, relax, and figure life out right now. And not get my hopes up about conference play.

(My Meijer bag to contain my breathing still is here).

That, and taking care of the ball. Broncos have only 2 turnovers so far, and neither very impactful (both fumbles vs. ISU).

RE: San Jose State @ Western Michigan. The Game Thread
With the exception of the Western Kentucky bowl L, we've been getting it done OOC vs other G5 schools. Since the 2015 Georgia Southern L, I don't think we've lost one.

Split GA Southern
Swept Idaho
Swept Georgia St
Split at least w/ San Jose St

Not exactly murderer's row, but pretty good for a team from a conference that's supposedly the worst.

Starkel took a huge hit in the first Quarter from Fiske on the Selig pick. It was 15 yard late hit because it was a blind side hit.
