OT Article: Big 12 Lowered Their Standards
https://www.on3.com/news/big-12-conferen...standards/

Interesting part of the article for me...

..."I used to say we need to schedule Power 5 (teams) and I started realizing that’s not the right designation,” Florida athletic director Scott Stricklin told the Orlando Sentinel. “It needs to be we need to schedule quality opponents because there are quality opponents in non-Power 5 leagues, and going forward there may be some teams in Power 5 leagues that aren’t quality opponents. I don’t know if that designation is going to carry the weight going forward that it once did.”

RE: OT Article: Big 12 Lowered Their Standards
Been saying a long time, the top of “G5” is better then the bottom of the “P5”. Is a “G5” gonna beat an Alabama right now, but neither is anyone else. Besides, the “P5”, “G5” is a media term anyway, just stop using and call us all FBS.

There' a lot of P5 programs I think are content to soak up big TV money while not investing on improving. Meanwhile G5s are clawing and scratching their way up 1 inch at a time gradually closing the separation.

This is just political talk for acknowledging that the other P5 conferences created a scheduling agreement to limit the SEC. This is really the only thing he can say without throwing dirt.
